Job DescriptionSalary: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide clinical services to a population of outpatient adults, children and adolescents as a synergistic member of the overall team while adhering to the policies and procedures of the center. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The PMHNP will report directly to the Medical Staff Coordinator of the center where assigned and will work closely with and other staff for direction in areas of specialty. Create a Plan of Care/Treatment Plan for new patients. Direct patient care including medical assessments and follow-ups. Manage an appropriate caseload including paperwork. Prescribing appropriate medications as indicated by intake/assessment. Work collaboratively with team members to diagnose, manage and evolve patient care. Work collaboratively with outside providers to both make and receive referrals. Identify patient needs requiring medical management in addition to PMH needs, i.e., dual diagnoses. Refer patients internally for individual and/or group therapy. Ordering and analysis of appropriate laboratory tests, when indicated. Organize and maintain personal work area. Facilitate educational groups. Travel to assigned sites. Maintain confidentiality. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Consultation with Medical and Clinic Directors and/or counselors.
