A Typical Work Day May Include
Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility

What You Will Need:

Job purpose
The Level 1 Technician performs basic turbine services or installation tasks. The Level 1 Technician will have 12 months or less of documented experience or training. They will partner and communicate with the Lead Technician or a senior technician to execute contract requirements and timelines and ensure alignment with operational excellence.
Duties and responsibilities
Perform and complete tasks in a timely manner as agreed upon with your supervisor.
Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic component maintenance and repair under supervision as needed.
Participate in toolbox talks and JSA.
Assist with preventive maintenance, daily operations, & large component replacement.
Complete required and accurate documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment; maintain records of documentation.
Assist with troubleshooting components and equipment.
Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner.

Experience using basic power tools.

Required certifications must be valid throughout the entirety of the project.

High school diploma or equivalent
Some wind experience or certification from an accredited training facility.

**A Snapshot of Your Day** The Wind Service Technician performs planned and unplanned maintenance including troubleshooting and replacement of parts if necessary, in a safe and professional manner on Wind Turbines. **How You'll Make an Impact**
+ Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely.
+ Supports customer remotely and onsite, and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues, providing excellent customer service.
+ Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment. Ability to assess and resolve problems independently and efficiently.

Maintain warehouse in a clean and tidy manner. Consume parts when used and replenish by coordinating with Materials Manager.
**What You Bring**
+ Equivalent experience or high school diploma preferred.
+ Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces. Climb Wind towers (up to 300 feet) multiple times and at times without climbing aids or lifts.
+ 6 months in mechanical, electrical, military, or construction field preferred, including 6 months verifiable hands on experience in Tower construction, Plant Maintenance, A&P license, Mill Work etc. preferred
+ Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 lbs. or less as required by the equipment safety regulations.
+ Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position. Must pass pre-hire drug screening.

What you will do Role Overview:
Intermediate level position, the Wind Technician II is an integral member of the Wind farm with the responsibility of on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at one of EDPR NA's operating wind energy generation sites. Tasks include but are not limited to completing Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and documentation that is necessary to support wind turbine maintenance safely. This team member will also conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities for compliance with EDPR policies, governmental safety guidelines, and environmental regulations. Main responsibilities:
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment, including substation and tower switchgear
Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures
Communicate through appropriate channels or implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol
Seek assistance when encountering turbine issues outside the trained skill level to ensure success in resolution
Comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs and act as a safety role model

What are we looking for Minimum Requirements:

The Level 3 Technician is a critical and active role to maintain optimal function and output at the wind site by managing a team of technicians working daily on turbine operations, required maintenance, safety, quality control and warranty repair(s). Job purpose
The Level 2 technician is a critical and active role to maintain optimal function and output at the wind site by working daily on turbine operations, required maintenance, safety, quality control and warranty repair(s). Duties and responsibilities
Perform assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance on wind turbine generators and related equipment.
Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic component maintenance and repair.
Perform component retrofits and upgrades.
Perform preventive maintenance, daily operations, & large component replacement.
Complete required and accurate documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment; maintain records of documentation.
Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components and equipment.
Capable of performing site specific LOTO procedures.
Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner.
Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance/installation assignments.
Maintain required training certifications and qualifications to enable personnel to safely perform work-related tasks in a quality & safe manner.

Qualifications
Qualifications include:
Experience using basic power tools.
Valid driver's license.
Basic wind technician certificates. (GWO BST, BTT, Confined Space Awareness, NFPA70E, Rigging and Signaling, OSHA 10)
Required certifications must be valid throughout the entirety of the project.
High school diploma or equivalent
One to three years of experience in the wind industry.
Willingness to learn and the ability to be coached.
Ability to make decisions and act when time or customer pressures are apparent.
Willingness to travel domestically: more than 80% of the time.

Please note: This is an on-site position requiring residence within 60 minutes of the location or willingness to relocate. While this is not a travel-based role, occasional travel within the local hub may be required.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Wind Technician you will:
Work with site & hub leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements and activities set forth with on a daily basis, which include any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generator;
Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions;
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch & variable speed turbines;
Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision; observing all safety requirements;
Perform some diagnostic electrical analysis;
Document all work performed using computer based service reporting procedures and
Work with and respond to GE's remote operations center when necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED, and
Minimum of 1 year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience
Eligibility Requirements
Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment, and
Basic computer skills Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weight of up to 45 lbs. unassisted and climb towers of 300+ feet regularly.
Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear
Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
Effectively prioritize work according to contract obligations
Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision, and
Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs.
Occasional overnights may be required per hub needs.
Desired Characteristics
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university
Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field
Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm
Wind turbine experience
Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision
Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience
Experience using hydraulic power tools
Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
The base pay range for this position is $25.96 - $34.96. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
