About the role - Operations Supervisor (Winnemucca, Nevada)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for an Operations Supervisor within our Specialty Mining Chemicals team.
The Operations Supervisor will lead and drive all operational activities to ensure sustainable improvement of critical business processes, systems, and technology to improve overall operational goals. Working directly and indirectly with all levels of Orica employees and external stakeholders, the role will focus primarily on the overall management and tracking of all operational functions for both solutions and solids. Emphasis is placed on safety and health, protection of the environment and economics, converting raw materials into liquid sodium cyanide and solid cyanide, and ensuring timely shipments to the customers.
What you will be doing
Develop people and ensure that all team members are properly trained. Set up coaching/performance improvement plans and identify/implement development opportunities. Checking and reporting that all employees are properly trained.
Supervise, train, and develop subordinate staff in following standard operating procedures.
Advise senior management of issues and/or risks to operations or supply for effective risk management.
Supervise all day-to-day duties and activities of the specific team/process/substream.
Act as back-up for the Business Process Excellence Lead for follow-up meetings and reporting with GBS and Orica Management.
Manage specific team, ensure alignment, reporting, and communication, including appropriate workload allocation, implementation of appropriate backup systems, monitoring of volume and productivity.
Strategic Governance
Lead, drive, track, and manage the business operational duties, strategy, and framework for the site, and proactively drive the philosophy.
Process Design and Standardization
Lead, drive, track, and manage the overall process and SOP tasks across all operational activities.
Process Management and Improvement
Proactively work with Process Owners, Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other subject matter experts to analyze and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes.
Project Management
Lead, drive, track, and manage the timely execution and delivery of all operational duties.
Provide guidance to the operational task owners of the individual operational tasks to ensure each project meets the planned deliverables.
Handle overall reporting of shift results.
Data Analytics
Provide the Leadership Team with the information/analysis/recommendations/suggestions needed to make decisions about strategies and tasks related to operational efficiency and performance improvement.
Change Management
Work with Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other Orica Employees to deal with minor to complex scale organizational changes in their workstreams, analyze changes, and determine their impact on business processes.
Analyze overall operational tasks and workstream-specific action plans to introduce major or minor organizational changes with a minimum amount of disruption.
Lead, drive, track, and manage operational changes on a sitewide level.

At least 5 years of relevant experience within process or manufacturing-specific teams, including 3 years of direct people management experience.
1-3 years of process management training and coaching experience.

About the role

The Plant Controller partners with the site management team as the key business finance interface, providing insight into underlying performance and driving accountability for results across the management team.
What you will be doing
Prepare site monthly business report (MBR) and lead the meetings
Evaluate and maintain accuracy of general ledger and subledgers.
Manage, track and report site capital spend to budget
Reconcile all accounts within required timeframe and oversee preparation of all monthly bank reports.
Analyze all financial records and assist in consolidation of all financial statements.
Evaluate monthly financial trends to support variance analysis in coordination with Plant Manager
Assist Plant Manager in forecasting operational expenses.

We are seeking an experienced and organized Training Specialist to join our Training Department. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, creating, and facilitating training programs and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and workforce readiness for employees, contractors, and vendors at Thacker Pass. You will help implement the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and support the management of the Learning Management System (LMS). The role will be based at our Winnemucca office during construction and will transition to the Thacker Pass site during commissioning and operation. This role reports to the Training Superintendent. Travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborates with the Training Superintendent and department leaders to implement, evaluate, continuously improve, and validate training programs for TPP employees, vendors, and contractors.
* Ensures all TPP employees, contractors, and vendors have the proper training to perform their jobs while following applicable laws and regulations.
* Designs and updates course materials, job aids, and On-the-Job (OJT) guides; develops and maintains written assessments and practical evaluations aligned to SAT.
* Facilitates classroom and hands-on training for critical topics; coaches and supports department OJT trainers and subject-matter experts (SMEs).
* Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and training content within the Learning Management System (LMS); assists with LMS user management and data quality.
* Generates and distributes reports to managers on training program effectiveness, delinquencies, and deficiencies.
* Monitors and supports compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
* Provides day-to-day support and coordination to training personnel and contractors as necessary.
* Supports the implementation of the five-step Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process under the direction of the Training Superintendent
* Collaborates with contracted organizations to ensure alignment of training expectations and standards.
* Records training documentation for TPP staff and contractors in the LMS
* Assists in developing, maintaining, and coordinating site training schedules.
* Provides guidance to TPP personnel on accessing information in the training database.
* Participates in incident investigations to identify and address any training-related gaps or contributing factors.
* Builds trusted relationships across all teams while promoting a learning culture that reflects our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in the training department of a mining or chemical processing organization
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to design, deliver, or support workforce training programs that meet operational and regulatory requirements.
* Documented "train-the-trainer" training in subjects such as Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, First Aid/AED, etc., preferred
* Qualification as an MSHA part 48 Surface Mining Trainer ("IS" Blue Card), preferred or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
* Experience developing or coordinating On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs, preferred
* Experience supporting training system implementation or start-up operations, preferred
* Strong team building, decision making, and relationship skills
* Current knowledge of business and human resources practices
* Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship principles
* Experience delivering classroom, hands-on, or blended learning sessions.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Lithium Americas' efforts in safely and effectively building, commissioning, and operating the sulfuric acid plant and lithium processing facilities at Thacker Pass. This position plays a key role in providing technical process engineering support to plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance across chemical processing systems and unit operations associated with sulfuric acid production and lithium processing.
The Process Engineer will serve as a technical resource to the Thacker Pass processing facility, supporting operations, troubleshooting process issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, a proven track record of problem solving, and familiarity with sulfuric acid production and chemical processing equipment. This role will help maintain and continuously improve operating practices that support stewardship, safety, quality, and overall plant performance.
The role is based at our Winnemucca, NV office and reports to the Site Engineering Manager. Occasional travel to other Lithium Americas offices, business units, engineering partners, or vendor locations may be required.

JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and detailed-oriented individual to join our manufacturing company as a Welder 1.
Responsible for performing welding operations on metal components according to specifications, blueprints, and safety standards. This position plays a key role in fabricating and assembling structural and mechanical products used in our manufacturing processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
* Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
* Perform grinding, cutting, and other finishing tasks as required.
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment, settings, and methods based on requirements.
* Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
* Align components using fixtures, tape measure, levels, speed square, etc. and clamp pieces
* Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
* Prepare trailers and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
* Follow orders, and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
* Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines.
* Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Environment is not climate controlled. Limited control of heat and cooling, hot in the summers and cold in the winters.
* Loud industrial environment.
* Manufacturing floor with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* Walking, standing, kneeling, bending are required up to 90% of the workday
* Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50-70 pounds, up to 20% of the workday
WORK HOURS:
* This is a full-time position. Work week is Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts. Saturday will be required when production demand requires overtime.
