Responsibilities The Whitley County Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and energetic part-time Sports Referees to join our team and ensure quality standards for YMCA youth sports programs. Serve: Maintain a playing environment that is safe and efficient; respond to emergencies when needed, and make responsible judgments with regard to participant and/or program area conduct. Care: Responsible for the conduct of the area and individual/game management and provide rule enforcement when needed. Lead: Keep accurate records of sports data and set up equipment and/or stores equipment according to YMCA established procedures. Requirements Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have at least 2 years of high school or the equivalent. Additional certification, education, or experience as deemed necessary by the Sports director. Two seasons of experience in specific sport officiating or playing is preferred. Incumbent must have a schedule that allows for evening and weekend responsibilities Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences. Salary: Part-time $11.85-$12.35 hourly Hours Available: Saturday 8:00 am-4:00 pm Location: Whitley County Family YMCA, 950 E. Van Buren, Columbia City, IN 46725
