Become part of the change and let yourself be carried away by our ingenious projects and events around the world! Exciting tasks await you in an internationally active company with a product that the world has never seen before. This is a chance to be a foundational LED engineer in a growing US division of an innovative global company. You will have direct influence on how systems are designed, built, and deployed. We are now looking for you as an Event Technician (all genders) at our location in Orlando, FL (with travel).
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on LED Systems Engineer & Event Operations Technician who can design, build, deploy, and support professional-grade AV and LED systems across installations and live events.
This is not a desk-only engineering role. You will work across the full lifecycle:
Designing and standardizing AV racks and systems
Assembling and testing equipment in our Orlando warehouse
Traveling to installations and events for deployment, troubleshooting, and operational support
Acting as a first-line technical owner on site, coordinating with ASB's global engineering team when needed
You will play a key role in establishing technical standards, documentation, and best practices as ASB's US AV operations scale.
Your tasks with us:
Support installation, startup, operation and basic maintenance of ASB LED floors during events and permanent installations
Perform first-line troubleshooting during live operations
Escalate complex issues to ASB's global engineering team when required.
Log incidents, maintenance actions, and operational notes to improve future projects.
Design and document AV/IT racks (servers, media servers, video processors, UPS, networking, KVM, cabling and SOPs)
Assemble, wire, configure, and test AV racks in-house and on-site, as well as preparation of systems for transport, deployment, and on-site commissioning
Configure and validate systems using Pixera, Disguise (d3), Novastar, Analog Way Aquilon, and related platforms
Work closely with engineering and support teams in the US, but also in Germany.
Coordinate with project managers, sales, and external partners
Assist with procurement, spare parts strategy, and inventory tracking
What you bring with you:
At least 3 years of experience in LED integration, live event production, or systems engineering.
Hands-on experience building and wiring racks and data, power and signal distribution for LEDs.
Strong troubleshooting skills under live or time-critical conditions.
You stay calm under pressure with preparation and backup plans.
You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership on site, that includes a willingness to travel (approximately 30-40%).
Ideally you are experienced with Novastar, Analog Way Aquilon, Pixera, Disguise and similar platforms.
Familiarity with Absen LED systems and event-based AV workflows, as well as electrical and power distribution for AV systems (PDUs, UPS, rack power, generator/temporary power, load calculations, and safe load management) would be a plus.
CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar) for rack and system documentation, would help you in this role.
Background in broadcast or sports or large-scale live events would also be great.
This is what we offer you:
Salary: Commensurate with experience (full-time as well as contractor options).
Paid vacation days above the standard
Health/Dental/Vision insurance offered for full-time positions.
Travel expenses covered.
Opportunity to shape and grow the US AV Systems and Event Operations team.
