Mon - Fri from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (OT often times needed)

Pays $21.00/hr

Hand Tool experience, Heavy Lifting, Wire Cutting experience is a plus!

Description:

Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies with a focus on the wire department.

• Mainly Cutting and spooling all different wire sizes using wire cutting machinery.

• Track footages of wire on stock wire reels and updating wire tag marker.

• Ability to load, unload, and move materials within or near work site by performing the following duties:

• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Unload incoming vehicles and prepare necessary receiving documents.

• Handle freight claims as required.

• Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist , and clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.

• Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with shipper.

• Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.

• Communicate when wire inventory levels are low.

Cornerstone is looking for talented, dedicated, detail-oriented Wire Cutters for a warehouse located in Upper Marlboro, MD. As a wire cutter your job is cutting wire and cable with the use of machines. It is your job is to ensure the accuracy of the cuts.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (1pm-work completion) $15 per hour

Turtle & Hughes is seeking a Wire Cutter who will be responsible for cutting and measuring wire and/or cable and ensuring great quality.
This position is available in Somerset, NJ. This is a Monday thru Friday, day shift position.

This is a union position.

Essential Functions:

Ability to identify different wire types Ability to spool the wire onto a reel Ability to measure and cut the wire at the correct length. Maintain all equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently, while complying with OSHA and company standards. Assist in inventory accuracy and cycle counts. Ensure proper stock rotation. Preform aisle assessments and assignments.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma or equivalent At least one year warehouse experience (picking/packing), must be able to lift 50 lbs Experience wire cutting Experience with managing inventory Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and write legibly. Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines Ability to be flexible
