Headquartered near Kansas City, Kansas, WireCo WorldGroup, formerly Wire Rope Corporation of America, Inc. was originally founded in 1931 by J.P. Barclay, Sr. as an offshoot from his company, Wire Machinery Corporation of America.
CASAR is an abbreviation for the French term ´Câblerie Sarroise´. CASAR Drahtseilwerk Saar was founded in 1948 by Consul Joseph Verreet.
Since its inception, CASAR has stood for innovative product developments, producing the first 8-strand ropes in 1949 when six-strand ropes were the standard.
In 2010, WireCo WorldGroup acquired Oliveira joining its family of brands which adds numerous value added products to the WireCo portfolio.
