Job Description:
Primarily installs components assemblies and electrical wiring in control panels according to wiring diagrams for shipment. Also responsible for the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications. Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units. Attaches breakers, relays, contactors, bus bars, transformers, plugging devices, fuse blocks and others to mounting holes with bolts and screws. Cuts, strips, bends, and mounts wires to connect electrical units. Inspects and tests completed electrical assemblies as required. Boxes or bags products as required. Affixes labels to product. Insures completeness of paperwork. Forwards completed orders to shipping department. Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly issues Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read and understand basic motor starter wiring diagram. Knowledgeable of basic hand tools and measuring devices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two year certificate from college or technical school; or 1 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required:

  • Valid Wireman License from Alaska or reciprocating states

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install new or modify electrical installations consistent with local and national codes. Plan electrical installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
  • Read and properly execute plans, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications for electrical wiring including installation of conduit, distribution equipment, wiring, lighting, devices, and other electrical systems.

  • Inspect electrical components for wear and defects including transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.

  • Prepare and present sketches showing location of wiring and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment used in the trade.
  • Adhere to all Raven Electric company policies and procedures.
  • Must be trustworthy, honest, and dependable.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers, other trades, and company personnel.
  • Have a team-oriented mindset that enables you to work harmoniously with other employees and contractors to complete or troubleshoot tasks.
  • Supervise and lead a work crew including providing technical direction and on-the-job training to junior team members.
