Position Summary:
The Accounting Operations Manager position provides expertise accounting support for the company. They oversee the Billing, Assembly & Mailing, Time & Expense, Client Services, and Payroll functions. In addition, the Billing Manager will be responsible for overseeing, evaluating and developing a staff of 14 professionals to achieve both career and company objectives.
Typical Functions:

Requirements:

In this position the qualified individual will investigate and determine the service life of building enclosure assemblies. The qualified individual will assess enclosure systems, and design repairs for existing enclosure systems. They will perform enclosure review to assess air infiltration, rain water control, heat transfer, and vapor transmission. They will perform building performance analysis including evaluate daylighting, solar heat gain, thermal energy transfer, and holistic integration of the enclosure with building mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems.
A sound technical background and excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A technical background in CADD and building performance modeling software is preferred. You'll develop a strong background in building facade and roofing assemblies, understanding of building science and thermal analysis concepts as well as a knowledge of modeling building performance and sustainability.
Job Responsibilities will include:
Assist Project Manager with project tasks.
Review and organize project-related documents.
Research building codes and industry standards.
Write assessment reports.
Perform field investigations, including non-destructive testing, travel required.
Performance modeling of enclosure assemblies using different software.
Analyze proposed repair/design options.
Design and draft repair drawings and details.
Prepare construction documents such as repair drawings and specifications.

Job Description
This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Chicago Metro area, including the Midway airport.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
Installs, repairs and maintains equipment in the field; provides customer training as required.
Documents all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely basis
Order, install, and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time
Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers as necessary.
Participates in Service Sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs.
Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
Assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommends modifications or improvements.
Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings
Possesses basic technical knowledge on the company's Trace and X-Ray technologies.
Maintains clear and concise business communication, both oral and written
Establishes and maintains a close relationship with senior level FSE's and Product Managers in order to support the needs of the customer and remain aware of current technical trends.

Qualifications
Education/Training:

At WJE, we spend almost as much time in the field, up close and personal with our projects, as we do in the office. This role will require regular nationwide travel to perform field investigations and bridge inspections, collect samples, test materials in order to assist in the diagnosis process, perform nondestructive and destructive testing, assist with specimen and full-scale testing in our laboratory, perform fabrication of test components and retrofit components, and install structural retrofits. Nondestructive testing (NDT) at WJE is typically performed using novel or innovative methods for access, testing application, or interpretation of results. Testing may include following unique procedures developed by ASNT Level III personnel, or following written or verbal communication from project engineers. This position works under the general supervision of a Senior Specialist or Project Manager but completes routine and moderately complex tasks, testing, and structure retrofit installations independently. As an NDT Level II Technician, you will perform various inspection techniques on a variety of bridge structures, both modern and historic.

Responsibilities:
Perform ultrasonic inspection of welds and welded connections in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5 or other applicable codes per project requirements
Perform other NDT inspections utilizing various NDT methods (Phased Array UT, MT, PT, etc.) to assess conditions of structures such as corrosion, defects, or cracking of structural steel. Interpret indications of distress and report or record results per project requirements
Routinely complete lab and field technician work, which includes: participation in bridge structure inspections, retrofit of steel and concrete structures, installation of instrumentation and data acquisition equipment, concrete coring, steel sample removal, moderate to complex fabrication, and performing tests in lab and field with minimal supervision
Under the direction of experienced engineering staff, understand and execute inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5 or other applicable codes
Assist in additional NDT or other work at WJE's laboratory or field equipment facilities. Assist in creation of specific testing jigs or equipment to accommodate unique structure geometries
Assist engineers in producing high-quality, accurate inspection reports that incorporate NDT findings, photographs, or screenshots as applicable
Maintain inspection equipment, including repairing or replacing damaged parts, ensuring equipment remains calibrated, and assist in procuring new equipment with project teams as applicable
Calibrate laboratory and field testing equipment
Perform an active role in the quality assurance program
Understand, follow, and enforce all safety standards
Maintain high levels of efficiency and productivity to consistently deliver projects on schedule and within budget
Maintain currency with industry trends and new technologies. Propose and implement changes to workflow to improve efficiency
Conduct specialized testing

WJE offers a robust, total compensation structure composed of base salary, incentive pay, and industry-leading benefits:
Base salary is determined through consideration of a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role while remaining mindful of our commitment to internal equity.
Employees receive variable compensation based on personal and company performance, typically resulting in above-market total compensation.
A good faith estimate of the annual starting base salary (gross) is in the following range:
$95,330.00 - $158,880.00

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is seeking a curious, committed, and enthusiastic Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team of engineers and designers. This position can be located in either our Downtown Chicago office or at WJE company headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois.

Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility for the day-to-day success of multiple projects, including acting as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project teams; training and mentoring teammates; and managing small-to-medium projects, as appropriate
Perform on-site investigations, condition assessments, and inspections, which may include surveying, documenting deficiencies, field testing, collecting data and samples, and preparing site visit reports
Develop fire growth, smoke movement, and egress zone models
Analyze field data, interpret model results, and perform research and review of construction documents, governing codes, and design guidelines to facilitate analysis, problem-solving, and development of alternative designs for a variety of fire protection systems, building code issues, and life safety objectives
Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final client deliverables, including written reports, calculation packets, construction documents, and project specifications
Contribute to company-wide objectives through involvement in office and company development initiatives, in-house Technical Resource Groups (TRGs) and research projects, and relevant industry committees and professional organizations (e.g., SFPE)
Qualifications/Competencies:
Three to Ten years of relevant experience, which may include designing and evaluating various fire protection systems; conducting building code analysis and code consulting; developing equivalencies for alternative methods and materials; writing fire protection building code programs; and/or building and analyzing complex fire, smoke, and egress models
Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering or related field; master's degree preferred
Licensed Professional Engineer (FPE); EIT in pursuit of PE will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with drafting, analysis, and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), PyroSim, Smokeview, Pathfinder, and CFAST)
Proactive, team player mindset with willingness to take on various responsibilities, tackle new challenges, and learn new skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands, while maintaining productive interpersonal relationships and a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Individuals must have the dexterity to be able to operate office and field equipment such as computer, printer, fax, copier, telephone, voice mail system, and other office and field equipment. Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of occupationally hazardous locations, including outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes
Ability to safely use and/or operate ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other access equipment
Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and other heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
Medically fit to utilize respiratory protection devices and other forms of Personal Protective Equipment
Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle
