WMBR-TV dropped the DuMont affiliation in 1955, less than a year before the network ceased operations.

1993

Since 1993, these awards honor those who have achieved great things against huge odds.

2002

Rather than give in to CBS' demands, Post-Newsweek Stations announced on April 3, 2002 that it would not renew channel 4's affiliation agreement with CBS, which was set to expire on July 10.

UPN affiliate WTEV-TV (channel 47, now WJAX-TV)—at that time owned by Clear Channel Communications—subsequently signed an agreement with CBS to become the network's new Jacksonville affiliate two weeks after WJXT's disaffiliation announcement on April 23, 2002.

2009

The National Institute of Anthropogy and History had announced in 2009 that it found a flood control tunnel on the outskirts of Mexico City that had Spanish construction techniques but carved Aztec symbols embedded in it.

2017

The sale was approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on January 11, 2017 and completed January 17, making WJXT part of a duopoly (Graham Media's first) with WCWJ.

2018

WCWJ and WJXT will be honoring the history, events and people during 2018 Black History Month.

The USA women’s hockey team won gold during the 2018 Winter Olympics behind the stick of Kendall Coyne Schofield.
