Title HPC Data Center Manager Reports To HPC Data Center Director The Job Provides direct supervision to professional contributors and/or skilled support to individual contributors. Acts as a guide to site operations teams, vendors, and contractors and may become actively involved, as required, to meet operational standards, project schedules, and resolve problems. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision to the HPC Data Center Technicians, overall data center supervision, and routine operational plans. Ensures the team is fulfilling responsibilities on time and projects are progressing, as expected. Manage payroll, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development. Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance. Plan, coordinate, budget, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center. Meets target typically against a monthly plan. Assists with new construction commissioning, as necessary, documenting and reporting all problems. Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience is required. 5+ years of progressively responsible data center-related experience is required. 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience is required. Strong leadership and team-building skills are required. Exceptional understanding of network, electrical, mechanical, and building systems required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Working knowledge of HPC computer equipment and network infrastructure required. An advanced degree is preferred. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.
