This program outlines a structured training path for individuals seeking to become Water Operators.The Water Operator Apprentice is an entry-level position that involves training and performing less complex tasks in the field operations and maintenance of the City's water supply and distribution systems under direct supervision. Tasks include excavation, water main work, utility locating, service tickets, meter work, water testing, record keeping, and general labor. This is a part-time position from 7 am to 3:30 pm 5 days a week with the possibility of full time assignment when available based on training and performance measures at the completion of the 6 month program.
