Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. Additionally, we offer Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,000 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 20,000 youth ages 4-18 annually in and from 110+ Title I schools across LA County!
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Candidate for Inclusion Specialist is responsible for supporting the inclusion of neurodiverse students within Woodcraft Rangers' Expanded Learning programs. This role focuses on designing and implementing individualized student support plans (Ranger Success Pathways), collaborating with site teams to ensure meaningful participation, safety, and engagement for all student, and address behavioral challenges as needed. Inclusion Specialists develop and deliver trainings on, and model inclusive strategies, coach staff, and help create environments where every student feels a sense of belonging and is set up for success.

Role Overview:
The Inclusion Specialist supports the inclusion of neurodiverse students within Woodcraft Rangers' Expanded Learning programs by conducting environmental assessments, observing staff and student interactions, coaching and modeling inclusive strategies, and collaborating with site teams to ensure meaningful participation, safety, and engagement. Frequent travel to multiple sites throughout the week will be required. Some travel may be required to represent the Inclusion Department at conferences and trainings in locations such as Sacramento or Palm Springs. Inclusion Specialists also contribute to training and integrated support at Camp Woodcraft, in Big Bear CA, helping create a welcoming and inclusive camp experience for all participants.
Responsibilities:
Design and coach site staff on the implementation of individualized Ranger Success Pathways (Plans) and assist in navigating environmental adjustments and the creation of support materials to meet student needs.
Support student engagement in cognitive, motor, academic, and social activities.
Monitor behavior and apply positive reinforcement strategies using a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
Collaborate with Site Coordinators and Club Leaders to foster inclusive practices.
Ensure safe and appropriate use of mobility and orthopedic devices.
Support students in transitions and participation during activities, field trips, events, and performances.
Help students build self-esteem and social skills through positive guidance and modeling.
Participate in team meetings, training, and family engagement efforts.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
6+ months of experience working with children in school or recreational settings, or 6+ units of college-level child development coursework.
Experience supporting students with intellectual/development disabilities
Understanding of inclusive practices and various disabilities.
Valid FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance.
Current TB Test clearance.
First Aid & CPR certification (can be provided by Woodcraft Rangers).
CPI Certification (can be provided by Woodcraft Rangers)

Job Summary:

Job Title: Visual Arts and Performing Arts Associate Direct Reports: None Status: Part time; Non-Exempt Salary Range: $28.00-$35.00 The Visual Arts and Performing Arts Associate is responsible for supporting expanded learning staff with curriculum and training to ensure the delivery of high-quality programming for visual and performing arts clubs. The VAPA Associate will research and identify emerging practices in performing arts to create and develop curriculum that supports high quality program implementation. The VAPA Associate will serve as part of the Learning & Development Team and collaborate to develop trainings on dance-focused topics, including folklorico, modern, cheer, color guard, and hip-hop. The Visual Arts and Performing Arts Associate is a hybrid position, including working work in-person, at the Woodcraft Rangers main office, school sites, and remotely.
Overall Responsibilities:
Identify or develop curriculum material in support of high-quality performing arts programing and staff development.
Identify or develop and facilitate/deliver training material in support of high-quality programing and staff development.
Evolve and facilitate/deliver existing training as part of staff support, including ongoing New Hire Orientation and additional follow-up training as needed.
Research best practices in youth development to inform development and ongoing curriculum and training evolution.
Collaborate with Learning Team and Program Team to identify organizational, program, and team needs.
Collaborate with Learning Team and Program Team to coordinate training logistics.
Collaborate with Program Team to coordinate events/field trips for performing arts and/or visual arts programs.
Identify and coordinate potential partners that would provide training for staff.
Lead any “train-the-trainer” academies and/or/trainings that may be needed.
Development and implementation of program support tools and resources as needed.
Work with VAPA Manager to set targets, manage projects, and evaluate progress and impact.
Participate in staff development training as required, approximately 40 hours / year.
Ensure program compliance and program quality is met according to funding, partner and WR guidelines and requirements.

Requirements:
AA Degree in Child Development or a related field is preferred or minimum of one year of experience as a group leader working with children and 6 units in child development.
WR will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for ALL employees providing any in-person work with staff or clients.
Experience across multiple dance genres: Folklorico, Hip-Hop, Modern, and Cheer
Enthusiastic to work well with youth development staff and/or youth.
Good oral and written communication.
Ability to travel to the various regions that have Woodcraft Rangers programs to support or deliver in person training. Regions would include San Fernando Valley, South Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Southeast LA and Downtown areas.

Job Summary:
Club Leaders are responsible for ensuring a fun and positive learning environment for club participants and will support clubs of approximately 20 children. Club leaders have the opportunity to grow, connect, play and have the greatest impact on each of their club participants. Other members of the team include a site coordinator, who oversees the program and a community liaison who supports the site coordinator. All staff can choose between working in school sites, sleepaway camp, or both.
The Club Leader position is an on-site position, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and school sites.
Role Overview:
Ensure students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally). Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.
Develops and leads age-appropriate program activities that are FUN, engaging and aligned with whole-child approach (social emotional learning, skill building, self-esteem, leadership, etc.). WR has an activity catalog to support the development of activity plans.
Monitors participant attendance and engagement to ensure participants are present and actively engaged in program activities.
Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
Collaborates with colleagues and supervisor to develop culminating activities or events that showcase all participants work and accomplishments.
Requests required materials in a timely manner so Site Coordinator can ensure materials are available when needed and within budget.
Complies with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including, up to date on all trainings and required certifications.
May be required to attend off-site field trips.
Maintain and submit student attendance daily.
Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 15 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
