OVERVIEW We are looking for a creative and Christ-centered associate to join our 5-6 Grade Ministry team. This is an opportunity for an individual to build and grow in their ministry experience, personal development and spiritual formation. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategically plan, coordinate, implement and lead student ministry events as assigned Help to equip and train volunteer leaders for student ministry to use their unique gifts and passions to serve within the mission and vision of Wooddale Church and the 5-6 Grade Ministry Attend training sessions and planning meetings with other area youth leaders Create a personal development plan and be accountable to the personal development plan Initiate active involvement in relational student discipleship by attending student-focused events, outside of regular ministry times (e.g. extra-curricular events, etc.) Assist with content and teachings for weekly programs and other key ministry initiatives Share leadership of ministry camps, retreats, and activities geared toward shepherding students in their spiritual journey with Christ Attend weekly ministry planning meetings, training sessions and Student Ministries Team activities MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (or anticipated graduation within one year) Experience working or volunteering in a large student ministry or college ministry setting (100+ students) strongly preferred Training, education, or degree that provides experience in student ministry strongly preferred Good communication and interpersonal skills; a love of people and commitment to ministry as service to God and the Wooddale family Ability to relate to 5-6 grade students and families Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and serve as a representative of Wooddale Church Evidence of a commitment to Wooddale Church's Mission Statement, honoring God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ Be a regular participant in public worship at Wooddale Church Become or remain a member in good standing of Wooddale Church RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the 5-6 Grade Pastor Works in close partnership with the NextGen, and Discipleship teams EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK & TRAVEL This position regularly requires flexible hours (holidays, weekday, weeknight and weekend work) and the ability to travel to all campuses and off-site programs, as needed. Organization, Employee Relations & Culture Stewardship Partner with leadership to strategically align human resource processes and initiatives to the organizational culture, mission, and vision of Wooddale Church Design and execute HR initiatives to address organizational change and improvements. Promote a culture of belonging, spiritual integrity, and mutual respect. Serve as a trusted advisor for conflict resolution and performance concerns. Talent Acquisition & Succession Planning Develop and oversee recruitment strategies for pastors, ministry staff, and support roles. Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and create compelling s. Oversee hiring process ensuring consistency, continuous improvement, and compliance with employment regulations. Maintain succession planning models to anticipate staffing needs across ministries. 3. Compensation, Benefits & Compliance Conduct salary benchmarking and manage compensation structures for all employees. Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose compensation strategies to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Oversee benefits administration, including health, retirement, and clergy housing allowances. Manage the design, implementation, and administration of all wellness and benefit plans, including the annual open enrollment process. 4. Policy Development, HR Operations & Systems Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, and codes of conduct. HR Professional Certification required, Sr. Certification preferred. Continuing education in nonprofit HR and employment law is a plus. Seven years+ of progressive HR experience, ideally with 2+ years in a leadership role. Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or faith-based organizations highly valued. ROLE: Assist the Accounting Manager and Accounting Team with a variety of A/R (contributions), AP and end-of-the-month reconciliation activities. The Accounting Team operates to serve both the ministry staff and the leadership of Westwood. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Manage employee credit card activities (Westwood uses Bill Spend & Expense) including but not limited to: approvals, software questions, monthly sync, and employee transitions. Act as primary staff managing employee credit activity. · Assist in monthly tasks: journal entries, bank feed transactions, reconciliations, etc. · Assist with employee transitions related to accounting/finance tasks - onboarding, internal transitions and offboarding · Crosstrain in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable core tasks to cover when staff take PTO · Work closely with assisting the Accounting Manager with projects during the course of the year: budget planning, end of fiscal year activities, annual audit, and other special projects. · Tasks will require utilizing the following software applications: Xero, PCO (Planning Center Online), Bill Spend, Bill AP & AP, Martus and the Microsoft 365 Suite. · Participate in regular check-ins and a mid-year/end of year evaluation · Align to and live out the Westwood Staff Culture: o Head High o Heart Soft o Arms Linked o Feet Forward RELATIONSHIPS: · Reports to Accounting Manager · Collaborates with Accounting Associates & Volunteers · Build relationships with operations team, leadership, staff, donors and vendors Requirements · Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus · 2+ years of accounting experience with accrual-based accounting or pursuing accounting secondary education · Organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills · Ability to work under deadlines and maintain attention to detail · Good communications skills · Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (experience with other software a plus) · Ability to handle confidential information with discretion · Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large · Endorse and support Westwood's Statement of Faith Salary Description $20-23/hour
