HOMEBUILDERS is focused on prevention. The goal is to build on a family's strengths, equipping them to care for their child in their home before a challenge reaches a crisis point. When families are referred for services, a Homebuilders specialist comes to their home to assess their needs and create a targeted plan. The goal is to mitigate safety concerns that would prevent children from remaining at home with their parents. In this role, you would work with a small caseload of families, conducting in-home sessions 3-5 times per week. Each family's needs are unique, so interventions could include helping them meet basic needs, teaching communication skills, teaching parenting skills and behavior modification skills, and using advanced therapeutic techniques.
