Job Summary:
Banquet Servers are responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests at special functions and events. The banquet Server will help assist with event setups, preparation, and clean up, serve guests, and respond to questions and requests.
Job Specifications:
Expected Pay Range: starting $8.01 per hour plus service charge

Job Responsibilities:
Take orders and serve food and beverages in a variety of styles: plated, buffet, etc.
Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and put out table centerpieces.
Service to include picking up food, carrying trays to function location, serve food and clear the food from the tables.
Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.
Set up for AM or PM break stations that include coffee, tea, snacks, beverages, etc.
Assists as needed with event room setup according to meal period and table needs
Performs food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee and ensuring workstations are stocked.
Removes dishes, glasses, silverware or other items from tables/counter tops and takes them to the kitchen.
Takes into consideration any special request and dietary issues made by the guest.
Interacts with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
Ensures final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
Monitors assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional service.
Addresses any guest issue promptly and with high concern.
Provides assistance to other banquet staff as needed.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 18 years of age.
2-4 years of food service experience, preferably Banquet service.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds.
Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Must be able to be on feet 10+ hours.
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

What You'll Do
Provide guests with quality customer service by demonstrating excellent knowledge of all menu items. Serve food and beverages to guests in a punctual, courteous, efficient and accurate manner. The Food Runner transports food from the main line to the guest, serves bread and butter and assists the line with set up by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

Transports food from main line to guest tables.
Interacts with guests in a professional, energetic, and friendly manner.
Sets up the line with plates, condiments, and other garnishments.

Killington/Pico Ski Resort and the Killington Grand Hotel hosts a variety of banquets such as quaint weddings for 25 people to extravagant weddings for 400, to conferences for 500+ attendees to feeding the 100's of athletes and coaches for the FIS International Women's World Cup event! With banquets held in the Ballrooms of the Killington Grand Hotel to the Peak Lodge and everywhere in between, the Banquets team works closely with Events and Food and Beverage Teams to put-on first-class events with unmatched attention to detail and guest service.

Have a good understanding of menu items and be able to communicate products and services to guests
Collect used dishes and utensils from guests and return to dishwashing area
Deliver and serve welcome drinks, food, meals, condiments, and accompaniments etc.
Delivering Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for service to your customer's table
Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts, etc.
Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation
Remove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period and deliver to the dish area
Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
Ensure each course are cleared and tables are properly cleaned
Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by captain
Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
Ensure proper use and storage of all meeting room equipment
Ensure there is proper back up if any equipment is not properly functioning
Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Meeting Rooms
Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Captain
Assist others with side work including cleaning, stocking, folding, silverware, etc.
Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next event
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Basic education (high school)
Vermont Department of Liquor Control Certification required
Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be on your feet for up to 12 hours
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Food Service experience preferred
Ability to deal with customers and staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Work schedule will vary to include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
