OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this position works closely with senior leadership to assure appropriate integration of group practice activities. Responsible for multiple clinical & medical practices. Committee participation required.
ROLE
Will visit multiple locations & mentor other physicians
Will split time between Medical Director activities & Primary Care responsibilities. Medical Director = 16 hours per week. Primary Care = 24 hours per week (2.5 hours documentation time; 21.5 hours direct patient care)
During Clinical Days each physician sees approx.. 20-24 patients per day
Participates in the institutional planning, operations & management activities of the Weeks Medical Center group practice
Ensure compliance with institutional mission statements, corporate policies & professional staff bylaws working closely with administration
Coordinate medical staff grievance process, mediating professional disputes & interdepartmental problems for members of the group practice
Monitor provider's dashboards; identify opportunities for improvement in quality, stewardship, utilization & productivity
Collaborate with Quality Chair on practices, peer reviews, & quality

JOB SUMMARY:
Receives payment for food and drinks from visitors and staff and greets all customers promptly and courteously. Also responsible for the service of the food, clean-up after the meals, cafeteria operation and departmental housekeeping by following food safety standards and practices. This will meet the sanitation, service and quality standards of the department and must be done in a competent manor to promote the mission of Cottage Hospital and Food and Nutrition Department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keeps all dietary staff aware of any concerns or problems, operates equipment according to policies and procedures, understands the safe use of all chemicals used in the department (MSDS sheets), and is knowledgeable regarding the hospital fire and disaster procedure, and actions to take.
Sanitation and Infection Control measures are followed according to policies and procedures. Responds to improper temperature appropriately and quickly. Follows proper hand hygiene practices.
Food preparation/production is completed by following policies and procedures. Assists cooks as requested in food preparation. Checks all menus, patients, and staff for food items. May function in other capacities as needed and or scheduled."
Patient food service is completed according to policies and procedures. Delivers trays to nursing floors and patients and notifies nurse if assistance is needed. Checks back with patients to see if any items or needed and/or for additional requests. Is knowledgeable of diets and how food fits into them. Maintains nursing units floor stock.
Has responsibility for the dining-room including cleaning and set-ups following policies and procedures. Keeps cafeteria and equipment clean and functioning correctly. Maintains assigned inventory.
Has the overall responsibility for the dish machine and its area including maintenance and cleaning? Is responsible for all the dishes.
Performs department housekeeping following established policies and procedures. Putting deliveries away; keeping all areas clean following schedules and/or as needed
Maintains required education for the position, D/10 service and attitude, department records and reports.
