In 1988, a United States license was granted to a small, well-established manufacturing company in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
According to Edmonds: 100 Years for the Gem of Puget Sound, published in 1990, David Whitcomb's estate also included Whitcomb Farms -- with orchards, horses, cattle, and goats, as well as a private airport and polo grounds.
WOODWAY USA was formed when the United States incarnation of the WOODWAY was developed and completed in 1990.
In early 1999, groundbreaking began for the current main clubhouse located at 540 Hoyt Street on a piece of the club property formerly used for the Annual Gun Club.
The sale price in April 2007 was $2,210,000.

Our magnificent, state-of-the-art pool and tennis complex was opened in 2013.
Woodway’s most recently built structure is the paddle tennis hut, completed in 2018.
In the fall of 2019 Bowers Forest Products acquired the Woodway product line to merge with their existing successful company of over twenty years.
