This entry-level position is responsible for learning and training on a variety of tasks to process, dry and package whey products that meet customer expectations and support the achievement of the company's vision, mission and values. Essential Functions Provide assistance to operators and learn the basics of each position. Perform preventative operator maintenance (POM) duties and complete additional cleaning tasks as determined by the supervisor. Provide support to Whey Operator during CIP process. This entry-level position is responsible for learning and training on a variety of tasks to process, dry and package whey products that meet customer expectations and support the achievement of the company's vision, mission and values. Essential Functions Provide assistance to operators and learn the basics of each position. Perform preventative operator maintenance (POM) duties and complete additional cleaning tasks as determined by the supervisor. Provide support to Whey Operator during CIP process. Monitor, test and correct CIP concentrations. Assist and support cleaning-related POMs. Assist in CIP on MP RO/POL, Water HTST and all associated lines, tanks and equipment according to SOPs. Provide support to Lactose Operator and Evap Operator during CIP process. Monitor and sample RO/POL/HTST process during shutdown, CIP, and startup at specified control points and correct any deviations from defined analytical set points. Transport finished WPC80 and Lactose to storage. Maintain good communications with lead and/or supervisors to ensure a safe, continuous product flow and proper maintenance of equipment. Complete and maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping. Operate and monitor assigned food safety preventative controls including verification activities, equipment operation, records requirements and corrective action database. Safely handle, prepare and use chemicals while wearing proper PPE. Attend and/or complete required safety and quality training sessions by the assigned deadlines. This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance function to ensure safe working conditions and to meet or exceed regulatory compliance, managing and maintaining inventory levels for maintenance parts, as well as partnering with the management team to create and maintain a safe work environment. We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill our vacant position of Hatchery Supervisor at the Longview, TX. Hatchery. In this role, the candidate will be responsible to supervise and manage the day to day hatchery operations. This position will report to the Assistant Hatchery Managers. : Job Description and Responsibilities: Perform and coordinate all processes, from receipt of settable eggs to delivery of chicks to the farms, including receiving, washing, grading, setting, candling, transfer, hatch grading, vaccination, shipment, sanitation, etc Provide guidance and supervision to staff. Monitor staff performance and staff development Perform duties related to hiring, assigning, training, disciplining and terminating hatchery employees and communicating with the Hatchery Manager along with HR consultation. Responsible for generating accurate on-time reports (receiving/shipping, traying/carting, candling, fertility, etc.) Ensure all aspects of hatchery operations are following Live Production SOPs, chick-well-being guidelines, biosecurity guidelines, staff safety programs and take appropriate action if required Under the direction of Hatchery Manager, ensure compliance with established SOPs by monitoring production processes, hatch performance, day-old and egg quality, equipment operation and schedule attainment requirements. Communicate to the Manager any observed irregularities Ensure proper operation, inspection, cleaning, monitoring and repair of all hatchery equipment. Perform minor repairs as required Effectively communicate with other departments of the company regarding egg/chick production, performance, condition, and other issues related to the hatchery operation Responsible for collecting and sending eggs, swabs and air samples for lab testing; handle communication with the lab regards to collection procedures, test results, etc Respond to off hour alarms, works weekends and holidays according to rotation schedule Cover for the Hatchery Manager when required Perform related duties as required The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of hatchery production and support processes, established SOPs, company policies, and state and federal regulations Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to organize and prioritize departmental needs Strong verbal and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively with others and interact with all levels of employees Ability to effectively resolve conflicts as needed Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not essential. Other duties include: repairing wooden structures, working with chicken wire, replacing electrical and plumbing fixtures, cutting Plexiglas to fit aluminum frames, routine maintenance on buildings, greasing equipment, checking to ensure equipment is operating properly and repairing if needed, working with PVC waterline and fittings, installing cat6 wiring and Qualifications: • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical, welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). • Must be able to use basic hand tools. • Must be able to read, understand, and follow task specific instructions, such as Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. • Must have own tools including a basic socket set, wrenches, skill saw, grinder, drill, sawzall, volt meter, level, and tape measure. • Must be a team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude.
