The operator is subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from the motor and exhaust and to smoke from wildfires. Provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities. * This individual will also help coordinate Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) that address students' concerning behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful and independent. BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS: BCBA certified and/or extensive classroom experience. REPORTS TO: Special Education Director JOB GOAL: The Behavior Intervention Specialist helps coordinate Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) that address students' concerning behaviors and provides a means to help the students become more academically successful and independent. The Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom behavior management strategies. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Support student acquisition of core curriculum and content standards identified by the State of Wyoming and Washakie County School District #1. 2. Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; implementing strategies for improving behavior; and identifying triggers to behaviors. 3. Facilitate team meetings with the identified student's teachers and parents for the purpose of completing a Functional Behavior Assessment. 4. Promote research-based positive behavior interventions in which "At Risk" students thrive: behavior instruction that is specialized, direct, and provides ample practice. 5. Regard assessment as a joint venture through which both student and teacher understanding is enhanced. 6. Engage parents in the student behavior intervention plan (BIP) process to involve and empower parents. 7. Review behavior referrals and data reports. 8. Gather student data through direct observation, screening tools, and interviews with students, staff, and parents to complete the FBA and develop a BIP. 9. Attend professional development opportunities to maintain high level of skill and knowledge of current research and practices. 10. Serve as a consultant to school personnel and parents. 11. Organize and schedule time commitments to meet demands of the job. 12. Provide instruction to small groups of children in Social/Emotional skills. 13. Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings as requested. 14. Reports to Special Education Director and/or building principal. 15. Maintain appropriate confidentiality when entrusted with personal information pertaining to students or staff members. EDUCATIONAL DIAGNOSTICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Eligible for Wyoming Certification as an educational diagnostician through PTSB. 2. Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development and learning theories. 3. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 4. Would prefer two years teaching experience and/or experience in a related field. REPORTS TO: Special Education Director JOB GOAL: Implement the special education assessment process. Assess the educational, learning styles, and program needs of students referred for a special education evaluation. Provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Receive student referrals and implement the assessment and evaluation process within required timelines. 2. Select and administer formal and informal assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services according to IDEA. 3. Collect and organize relevant assessment data from student's cumulative folder, classroom teacher(s), principal, support staff, parents and other resources as needed. 4. Participate in Eligibility/Testing meetings and IEP meetings as needed to assist with interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and development of IEP. 5. Conduct classroom observations and personal interviews as assigned. 6. Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students. 7. Consult with parents concerning the educational needs of students and interpretation of assessment data. 8. Assist classroom teachers with implementation of the IEP. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT: 1. Develop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with students and parents. 2. Assist in the selection of assessment materials and equipment. 3. Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the assessment program and make changes based on findings. 4. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required. 5. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education, and local board policy in the areas of assessment, placement, and planning for special education services. 6. Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations. 7. Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment. 8.
