Position Summary
Responsible for reading blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Primary Responsibilities
* Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders
* Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools
* Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope
* Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
* Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems
Qualifications
* Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience
* Ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond, and P.V.C. conduit
* Ability to use mechanical benders; use hydraulic benders 2" - 4"; fabricate and install conduit supports
* Ability to do wire and cable installation by hand, by machine, and in cable trays.

Essential Functions:
Install and set electrical switchgear, panels, controllers, wireways, and trays with speed and precision in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
Rapidly interpret electrical drawings and schematics to maintain production flow and meet daily build targets
Execute electrical conduit and wiring installations on modular chiller systems efficiently, minimizing assembly line downtime
Perform high and low voltage terminations quickly and accurately to keep pace with production schedules
Construct electrical supports and infrastructure while adhering to tight assembly timelines
Maintain organized electrical tool room to ensure zero delays in parts/tool availability for production
Provide immediate troubleshooting of electrical tools, welders, and grinders to prevent production bottlenecks
Source and procure replacement electrical parts rapidly to maintain continuous production flow

Work Environment
This position operates in a high-volume fabrication facility with rapid production cycles. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a fast-paced assembly line setting and is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This role requires maintaining focus and quality while working at production speed.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 4+ years of verifiable commercial or industrial electrical installation, preferably with experience in manufacturing or production environments

Knowledge concerning transformers, LVMCC, HVMCC, etc.
Strong working understanding of the National Electrical Code
Experience meeting production quotas and quality standards simultaneously
Working knowledge of the NFPA 70e and a strong focus on electrical safety
Journeyman or Masters License highly preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
5+ years of verifiable commercial or industrial electrical installation
Verifiable active Journeyman or Master Electrical License.

Department Overview
The people of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
This classification is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
This position may be subject to Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) review and approval. Provisional hires will be required to participate in targeted training to achieve journey-level knowledge of electrician roles and responsibilities.
Please note: Per letter of agreement (LOA) 23-36; All future employees who are hired, assigned, placed, or bid (after the execution date of this agreement) into one of the classifications listed (in agreement) and in the San Francisco Division ONLY is eligible for a 15% pay premium and will be subject to a "bid lock" for three (3) years.
In addition, Peninsula, De Anza, East Bay, and Mission divisions are eligible for a 10% pay premium and will be subject to a "bid lock" for three (3) years.
General Construction (GC)
For GC positions individuals must be able to travel and transfer to a new headquarters upon request at any time, throughout the entire PG&E service territory with no guarantees as to how long you will be away from home.
Reviews, verifies, and modifies prints and electric schematics. Lays out materials for installation, such as conduit, steel, wires, junction boxes, tools, etc. Places orders for supplies as needed.
Moves equipment to staging area. Performs safety preparation including performing high voltage protective grounding.
Uses power tools and hand tools to install equipment and systems, such as wire terminations, high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical and conduit systems, steel structures, control panels, metering and protection systems, air switches. Sets up rigging. Pulls wire.
May operate construction equipment, if qualified, such as crane truck, man lift, boom truck, bucket truck as part of installation, excavation, and compaction. Operates forklift to move and reposition equipment.
Uses hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, whackers, and shovels to remove and replace soil.
Removes old high voltage equipment, structures and other impediments prior to installation using heavy equipment, rigging and other tools.
Drives equipment on the job site (substation). May drive equipment from one job site to another. May drive a company vehicle to pick up tools or other equipment away from the job site.
Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition. Removes trash, debris, and excess materials. Picks up and reorganizes tools.
Overtime may be required.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $68.56 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. Job Responsibilities
Conducts visual, auditory inspections and electrical testing of equipment to troubleshoot problems for repair or replacement.
Identify problems and researches needed repair via manuals, manufacturer's specification and schematics; records status of equipment into tracking system.

INDICATIVE DUTIES:
Installs, overhauls and maintains all sizes and types of power circuit breakers, switches, motors, transformers and other electrical power plant equipment. Tests for and locates faults on control, power and lighting circuits; potential and current transformer and switchboard wiring; motors and starters; and similar devices on AC and DC circuits. Assists and instructs junior employees in work procedure and safe work practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* GED or High School Diploma.
* 5 years of experience in the electrical field.
Knowledge of:
* Theory of electricity as related to installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.

Job Responsibilities May Include:

Operating test equipment to include multi-meters, meggers, rotation testers, and high potential testers
