Field Operations supports the agencys overarching mission by providing oversight and guidance to cleared industry. Field Operations encompasses Industrial Security Representatives (ISRs), Information System Security Professionals (ISSPs), and Adjudicators by clearing industrial facilities, personnel, and associated information systems; and assessing the security posture of cleared industry. Must have a Top Secret (SCI Eligible) Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:
Job Description: Develops, drafts, revises, and edits reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents, using rough outlines and materials. Interprets information obtained through research and provided by technical specialists. Applies knowledge of documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical materials.
PROGRAM AND POLICY briefings. SUPPORT
The Contractor will provide assistance in support of program and policy activities, and as annotated below.Assist AIR teams in developing materials, meeting minutes, reports and Assist in the design, produce, and reproduce forms, charts, tables, and other written materials including graphic presentations.
Assist in development of process documents and checklists.
Produce draft documents for review by AIR
Revise all documents to incorporate any changes requested by AIR.
PROOFREADING AND EDITING SUPPORT The Contractor will provide assistance in support for proofreading, editing and/or formatting of FAA developed documents. These may include, but are not limited to:
Proofreading documents to ensure the accuracy of format, proper semantic/syntactic use, spelling, and punctuation.
Editing documents, to include: checking and correcting the content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and coherence; style; grammar; parallel structure; and cross-referencing, ensuring:
All documents are clear and comprehensible;
There is a logical development of subject matter;
The level of concept, expression, and vocabulary is appropriate for the target audience;
Conclusions drawn are valid and supported by reference to facts;
Conclusions are consistent and compatible with other documents, and conform to established Agency and departmental procedures and the Administrative Procedures Act.
Formatting documents in accordance with the United States Government Printing Office Style Manual; the appropriate Agency guidance material style guide, e.g., FAA Order 1320.46, Advisory Circular System; FAA Order 1320.1, FAA Directives Management; FAA Order 1000.36, and FAA Writing Standards , and other guides as appropriate .

TECHNICAL WRITING SUPPORT The Contractor will provide assistance in providing technical writing services, to FAA Aircraft Certification Division (AIR) performing a variety of writing and editing duties. These include, but are not limited to:
Gathering necessary technical information from subject matter experts (e.g. aerospace engineers) as well as other technical writers/editors, team lead, attorneys, and/or management officials.
Assisting in preparation, writing, editing, researching, and developing and/or processing documents such as Advisory Circulars (ACs), and regulatory/policy documents including rule making notices, amendments, regulatory evaluations, exemptions, special conditions, and related supplementary material.
Overseeing the timely processing of these documents by tracking, monitoring, and reporting on their progress via computer databases.
Ensuring:
All documents are clear and comprehensible;
There is a logical development of subject matter;
The level of concept, expression, and vocabulary is appropriate for the target audience;
Conclusions drawn are valid and supported by reference to facts;

Qualifications
Job Qualifications : Bachelors Degree in a related field and 10 years of direct aviation experience concerning flight operations and, as appropriate, experience as a pilot with a commercial or airline transport pilot rating. Bachelors Degree may be waived with 12 years of experience in performing the above duties.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
