Duties
This Writer-Editor position is located in Operations Management (OM), Enterprise Support (ES), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
* Under limited direction of a manager or supervisor provides writing/editing support for a variety of materials including reports, memos, business cases, manuals, Share Point site content, talking points, correspondence, FOIA, etc.; while ensuring proper format, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and adherence to the TSA Style Guide.
* Uses and provides guidance and instruction to program offices on various word processing, desktop publishing, and electronic publishing programs/systems. Advises program offices on correspondence standards, processes, and procedures.
* Responds to and coordinates information requests from external customers and research, writes, coordinates and edits responses received from program offices
* Applies standard procedures and practices to advise on moderately complex, non- controversial, factual, procedural, or recurring issues for which there are one or more readily apparent solutions; makes informed judgments and provides recommendations to senior editors on problems and issues.
The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (H Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.

Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-H Pay Band (equivalent to GS-12), applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-G (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all the following:

* Developing written information related to organizational programs, policies, or functions.
To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-H (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all the following:
* Independently researches, compiles, ensures accuracy and conveys complex written material of organizational/program's missions, functions; and

Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

We are seeking a creative writer/editor to join our team. The right candidate will be a strong collaborator able to rapidly synthesize information from disparate sources to draft compelling, persuasive content. Projects will include (but not be limited to) formal proposals, marketing collateral, blogs, whitepapers and other business development material.

Responsible for creation, edits, and final review of proposed publications
Gather necessary information from program personnel and research applicable policy, regulations, and best practices to support the team in developing, writing, formatting, and editing technical and non‐technical information for reports, white papers, blogs, marketing collateral, procedures, processes, briefs, and other forms of documentation
Provide technical and editorial document review and written feedback on documents
Maintain regular and frequent direct communication with subordinates to clearly articulate goals and priorities, and build trust and confidence
Meet with proposal team to strategize win themes and proposal approaches
Interview technical subject matter experts and develop written narrative from these interviews

Requirements
