Job Description The Automotive Service Writer, reporting to the Store Manager, will be responsible for setting the highest standards of excellence and personifying our core values to support operations in the service department of your store. This will involve contributing to a highly-motivated team environment, and working closely with the Service Team to streamline communication from our technicians to customers. The Service Writer is the face of the service department and will be responsible for all communication between customers and the service department. Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Greet every customer enthusiastically with a smile, showing hospitality with the highest level of respect. * Answer customer phone calls with enthusiasm and a smile in your voice. * Maintain a positive attitude, positive communications, and a strong team atmosphere. * Listen carefully to customer's problems, needs, desires, and fears. * Working directly with customers in areas of sales, service, customer opportunities, adjustments, etc. * Develop a detailed estimate of work to be performed. * Ensure target margins are achieved in each work order. * Present the best solution to properly repair our customer's vehicle in a way that is easy for them to understand. * Consistently and effectively sell our services without jeopardizing honesty and integrity. * Ensure that all work is completed to proper specifications with the highest quality. * Continually strive to achieve personal and team goals. * Assist with the daily physical opening of the store prior to standard work hours or earlier as workload demands, and closing of the store after standard hours or later as workload demands. * Continually strive to go the "extra mile" for our customers, and improve the performance of the store. * Act in a professional manner suitable as the representative of the quality organization with which you are employed, always and in every instance projecting character qualities of honesty and integrity. * Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Service Manager and Owners. Qualifications We are looking for: * Extensive knowledge of automotive systems and repairs. * Experience in automotive customer service and service sales. * ASE certification in service management or equivalent experience. * Supervisory or management experience helpful, but not required. * High school diploma or GED. Associates degree or undergraduate degree helpful, but not required. * Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment * Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to mentor others in a manner that ensures efficiency * Excellent verbal and written communication * Ability to develop professional relationships with customers and team members * Proven track record of exceeding business objectives * Ability to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team * Solid knowledge of basic OSHA laws and MSDS Compliance Additional Information All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
