The Research Grant Specialist I (RGSI) works with the Principal Investigator (PI) and senior-level research administrators to monitor grant accounts and track expenses. Provides reconciliation and research-related financial reporting of federal and non-federal grants. Serves as the liaison between departments or research groups, as well as the Sponsored Research & Funds Administration, Accounting and Finance departments. This role performs all post-award administrative functions including, but not limited to preparing and routing internal documents for signature and processing and maintaining a clear understanding of grant budgets and expenditure restrictions. Ensures compliance with all federal, state,, and local agencies including the National Institute of Health (NIH), the Department of Defense (DOD), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Institutional Review Board. This position will report to senior-level research administrators for day-to-day supervision of work
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Works as the liaison between departments or research groups and Sponsored Research & Funds Administration, Accounting, and Finance departments.
Prepares and routes internal documents for signature and processing.
Performs all post-award administrative functions.
Monitors federal and non-federal grant accounts, tracks expenses, project reconciliation and research-related financial reporting.
Performs necessary funding corrections via direct cost transfer requests (DCTRs).
Assists in the development of financial projections for project account management.
Assists in the development and submission of progress reports.
May enter Notice of Awards (NOAs) details into databases.
May assist in the preparation and submission of documentation required for research compliance.
Participates in required training and education programs.
Assists senior-level research administrators and leadership on other activities as assigned.
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
Keeps track of cost-sharing agreements, prepares interdepartmental invoices, and monitors payments.
Performs all Interns and Visitor Program administrative functions, including but not limited to onboarding/termination/renewals of interns/visitor personnel, and processing all necessary documentation.
Performs financial management functions for the department's Mini/Microgrants program, duties include, but are not limited to proposal/purchasing lead, keeping track of individual accounts, expiration and extension dates, account reconciliation.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED is required, but a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
One (1) year of experience in the administration of research grants, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and understanding of Grants, Manuscripts and Abstracts guidelines.
Knowledge of general accounting and financial analysis is required.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related applications required.
Demonstrated ability to create and utilize Excel spreadsheets for budget and data tracking.

Position Overview
Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD). QinetiQ is a mission-led innovation company that works with the USSF and DoD to design, develop, field, and maintain requirements essential to national security and the survivability of the warfighter.
We are seeking a Writer. The Writer is responsible for researching, drafting, and editing articles, speeches, and testimony on the organization, missions, operations, and initiatives as well as coordinating with the Government to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of twelve (12) years' experience in Technical Writing.
Responsibilities
* Research, draft, and edit articles, speeches, and testimony on the organization, missions, operations, and initiatives.
* Responsible for gathering, developing, and checking the accuracy of information from a wide range of sources, to include but not limited to, the Acquisition Deltas and staff organizations.
* Coordinate with the Government to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences.
* Perform additional research and provide recommendations on submissions from other staff activities to organize, balance, and apply a consistent sense of style, grammar, and flow to the finished product.
* Coordinate with the Government to ensure accuracy and consistency of messages.
Required Qualifications
* Extensive experience and expertise in Technical Writing, with prior experience with space programs preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct research and produce information materials such as speeches, briefs, and other documentation.
* Prior experience producing Government (DoD preferred) or Congressional reports.
* Knowledgeable in Air Force, Space Force, and Space Systems Command documentation formatting and presentation preferred.
* Experience Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
* Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this role is $46,400- $59,350 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. to join our Learning team. As a Learning Writer, you will be responsible for documenting various procedures and creating training materials to educate personnel on those procedures. You will work alongside other Learning Writers, Training Specialists and Operations members at Collectors to learn the best practices of each department and clearly document them for incoming personnel, and other departments.

What You'll Do:
Work with a motivated team to document and help standardize processes and create training materials such as Process Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),Work Instructions (WIs), presentation decks, and video modules
Assist the Learning Writers, Learning Specialists, and Learning Manager in researching and installing new training materials and tools that will enhance our training procedures and provide value to our employees
Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across many areas of the business to ensure processes are captured correctly, receiving and providing considerable feedback
Assist with maintaining the Learning Resource Site, the departmental shared drive, and project management boards, keeping them up to date with changes/improvements
Determine gaps in training material or content that should be filled to ensure safety and productivity among staff members
Identify future training needs and create a curriculum, with the Learning Manager's assistance, to facilitate training
Be creative and design better ways to present information clearly using text, images, audio, and video to ensure better training outcomes in accordance with the company style guide and consistent voice
Proofread, format, and edit new and existing documents and presentations

Regularly meet with respective section editors regarding pieces.
Stipulations:
Must be a registered La Sierra Student

Expectations:
