WSFS Bank is currently seeking a Commercial Banking Trainee. The Commercial Banking Trainee will be responsible for analyzing commercial loan customers and real estate projects for financial and business risks. The incumbent will review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing industry and market risks as well as prepare credit memorandums, financial spreadsheets, relationship/profitability analysis and other tasks associated with supporting Relationship Managers. The incumbent will complete an extensive training program including internal, external and virtual training and on-the-job training with experienced bankers. The incumbent will work with business clients with revenues of $2.5 to $100 million and/or real estate transactions from $1 to $15 million in credit exposure.
The schedule is 40- hour work week Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position requires the incumbent to work in Wilmington, DE for the first 12-18 months of employment. The associate can transition to another location at our Bank Center location in Wilmington, DE, Bank Place in Center City Philadelphia or Berwyn, PA. Candidate must be willing to travel to customer and various WSFS locations, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent work experience, which provides a basis for commercial loan underwriting and analysis, including the review and interpretation of client financial statements and tax returns, review and understanding of data in both personal and business bureaus. Training is provided.
* Previous credit experience is preferred.
* Previous banking experience is preferred.
* Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Requires strong analytical skills.
* Must have strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel.
* Must be an independent thinker in collaboration with other professionals and be able to structure a loan request while maintaining the credit quality dictated by bank policy to "Find a Way" to grant a loan.
* Must have a good understanding of applying Loan Policy to the underwriting document.
Salary Range:
$41,258.00 - $67,780.25

Job Responsibilities
The summer intern will work as part of a commercial client coverage deal team. The position will support Portfolio Managers (PM), Credit Analysts (CA), and Relationship Managers (RMs) in new loan transaction underwriting, loan monitoring, and business development activities.
Monitor for the receipt and accuracy of client reporting including financial statements, covenant compliance certificates, and collateral requirements.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity for professional development, to help them continually advance and prepare for their future careers, and participate in a philanthropic on-site event during the day.
Selected candidates will be invited to our Cranberry Township, PA office to meet our employees, learn more about the firm, and participate in professional development sessions. Candidates selected for the IMPACT Summer Leadership Program may also receive priority interviewing for our upcoming 2027 and 2028 internship positions.

Students selected for the IMPACT Summer Leadership Program will be contacted in early Spring, and additional details of the event will be specified.
The event will be held at our Cranberry Township, PA office mid-May (in-person attendance required).
Lunch will be provided.
Qualifications:
Students must be pursuing a 4-year degree in accounting or finance.
Any students completing an accounting degree with at least one full year of school remaining will be considered; freshmen are encouraged to apply.
Students interested in a Spring, Summer, or Fall 2027 (or later) internship are strongly encouraged to apply.
GPA 3.0 or greater is preferred.

What you'll do: During this 10-week program, you'll be embedded within a specific business area - such as banking, risk, operations, finance, or technology - working on projects that support real team objectives. You'll also collaborate with fellow interns on an AI-focused capstone project, participate in professional development programming, and engage with leaders across the organization.
* Analyze data, support process improvements, and assist with research

What do you need?
* Rising senior (Class of 2027) pursuing a bachelor's degree
* Interest in banking, financial services, business, technology, risk, compliance, analytics, or related areas
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
* Curiosity and a willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment
* Ability to work full-time for the 10-week summer program
* Authorization to work in the U.S.
