WSO2 Leadership

Since I completed my Bachelor’s degree in 1988, I have always focused on creating software technology tools that help other technologists build solutions in various domains. I have been lucky to have been at the center of several major technology waves in that period including the Web, Web services, cloud computing and data analytics. My last technology creation contribution is Ballerina, https://ballerina.io/, a new programming language optimized for writing network distributed applications.In 2018, after 30 years of creating technology, I changed my focus to applying software to make the world a better place. My immediate focus is on improving the technology that runs Sri Lanka by voluntarily helping the Government of Sri Lanka to digitally transform itself. However, all the work I am doing is intended to be useful for other parts of the world as well since all countries face similar challenges. This work is being done as part of the Code for Sri Lanka project of the Lanka Software Foundation, a non-profit organization I co-created in 2003.

Padmika is the Chief Financial Officer at WSO2. She is a strategic leader who has headed our Global Finance function since 2009. She also oversees the Operations of the organization, including the HR, Admin, and Legal teams.

Padmika has held leadership roles in Europe and the US. She worked in dynamic and high growth companies that began as start-ups and successfully graduated to the growth and expansion phases, eventually becoming part of large, public quoted U.S. companies.

Padmika was previously the Head of Finance for the European Pricing and Reimbursement business of IMS Health, a US Fortune 1000 company which is now IQVIA. Prior to that, she was the UK Financial Reporting Controller of UUNET Technologies, a subsidiary of MCI, a US Fortune 500 company which is now part of Verizon Communications.

Padmika is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, London). She successfully completed the Emerging CFO program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Strategic Analysis for Business Evaluation program at Harvard Business School.

Devaka is the Chief Revenue Officer at WSO2.

In his role, he oversees and manages all sales activities including both customers and partners. Devaka has extensive experience in the markets of financial services, telecom, Web 2.0, government and ISVs, and has also played a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships with large system integrators.

Prior to joining WSO2, he spent 3 years at Virtusa Corporation as a business analyst in the R&D division focusing on integration middleware and open source technologies. He was also involved in analyst research with Gartner in web services technologies and the open source software space.

Devaka is a professional graduate of the British Computer Society UK, and has an MBA from the University of NorthWest, USA.

The CTO role is about creating the future vision and enrolling others in it.

Important trends deriving from scale out commodity computing includile Cloud, Microservices, Platform as a Service, Docker, big data, ML/AI, Kubernetes, Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery, encryption, key management, identify management, authorization, authentication, environments, and automation across the board.



Prior to joining Citi in 2012 I was Chief Architect for the Investment Banking IT Division at Credit Suisse, and before that CTO at IONA Technologies, and before that Distinguished Engineer/TP Architect at Digital Equipment/Compaq Computer.

Nuwan is the Vice President & Deputy CTO - API Management & Integration at WSO2. He is a part of the architecture team that drives development efforts of WSO2’s API management platform.

Previously, he spearheaded architectural, research, and development aspects of WSO2 API Manager. He has also been involved in many customer engagements where he has assisted in developing their solutions architecture.

Nuwan joined WSO2 in 2011 as a Software Engineer and worked mainly on the WSO2 ESB. He joined the WSO2 API Manager team in 2012 and has been an API enthusiast since. His interests lie in the enterprise integration patterns and API management domains. His other areas of interest include Java EE Application Design and Development, SOA and enterprise application security.

Nuwan holds a BSc (First Class Hons) in Software Engineering from the Informatics Institute of Technology affiliated with the University of Westminster, UK. His final year research project was on a mobile framework for cashless financial transactions (a system capable of securely storing credit/debit card information and utilizing various wireless networking protocols for carrying out secure financial transactions).

Nuwan is a heavy fan of rugby and also enjoys reading, swimming and watching movies.

Prabath is the Vice President & Deputy CTO - Security Architecture at WSO2. Prabath has over 11 years of industry experience that currently involves providing security architecture solutions to many of WSO2’s key customers.

He has spoken at several global user conferences including ApacheCon, OSCON, QCon, WSO2Con, and European Identity Conference, among others. He has also authored four books related to Apache Maven, enterprise integration, and API security. Prabath is an Apache Axis2 PMC member as well as a member of OASIS Identity Metasystem Interoperability (IMI) TC,OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) TC, OASIS Security Services (SAML) TC, OASIS Identity in the Cloud TC and OASIS Cloud Authorization (CloudAuthZ) TC.
