WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Environmental Planner/Senior Siting Specialist for our Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Akron, Toledo or other regional offices.
Your Impact
* Plan, execute, and lead siting and routing studies for various energy industry projects (transmission, substation, renewables) in Ohio and surrounding states.
* Gather background data for project areas, prepare siting and routing maps, participate in meetings to document findings to clients and/or agencies, participate in public open house meetings, conduct windshield surveys of proposed sites and/or routes, and document the siting process at the end of the process into a defensible report.
* Liaison with various governmental agencies, clients, and team members.
* Support siting reports that document the siting process and why a site or route was selected.
* Provide guidance on state filing requirements and subsequently writing components for various public utility applications.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience
* Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science, Geology
* Familiarity with leading and performing routing/siting studies and analyses, and preparing associated reports.
* Familiarity with PJM, MISO and other regional transmission boards and their processes.
* Excellent technical writing skills, clear communicator, ability to work as part of multidisciplinary teams, and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage project team and interact with client team to deliver high quality work product.
* Attention and commitment to timely completion of high-quality work, often independently motivated.
* Willing to do some travel for site visits and attend public open house meetings.

Your Impact
Act as a Resident Engineer on a large construction project or as a Resident Engineer on a smaller midsized highway and/or bridge reconstruction/rehabilitation projects for our clients. May direct a highly complex and specialized construction engineering, administration, and inspection program.
Determine well-defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, structural plans, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, material sampling, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for multi-phase or multi-site field inspection activities.

Act as a point of contact between the client, project team and contractors.
Oversee and perform an initial check during the first phase of construction and follow-up inspections throughout the construction project; at completion, ensures a final, comprehensive inspection occurs and is formally documented.
Verify load calculations, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications; resolving differences in interpretation of plans and specifications.
Monitor project phasing plans and contractors' work to ensure quality control and contract compliance; documenting work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.

Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants.

Coordinate inspection field/site work, reviewing staffing, and equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates.

Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain inspection findings, and recommendations to navigate, improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design, construction, and/or environmental issues or opportunities.
Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of data obtained during site assessments and inspections, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk environmental, construction, installation, equipment operations, and/or mitigation activities.
Interact with any applicable regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
Remain current in latest inspection and construction knowledge, techniques, and practices.
Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on developing business development opportunities and cross-selling of additional WSP services.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2026 in one of the following majors:
Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
Structrual Engineering
Working knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D

Required Qualifications

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 88,300.00 - Max Salary $ 128,000.00
- Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 97,100.00 - Max Salary $ 140,800.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Responsibilities
Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients' visions for the future built environment.
Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our client's practices, procedures, and standards.
The opportunity to gain knowledge in one or more of the following: natural resource regulations, water quality regulatory programs, wetlands identification including knowledge of botany and soil science and experience in ecology, wildlife biology, water resources, geographic information systems and environmental science.

In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
