Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience either orally or written. You will use your technical abilities for the planning, analysis, and design of projects for municipalities throughout East and Southeast Texas. This role will manage multiple projects, ensuring seamless coordination with clients, sub-consultants, and internal teams across East and Southeast Texas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the design of water and wastewater pipelines and force mains, pump stations, lift stations, treatment plants, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities. Prepare plans, specifications, cost opinions, schedules, and permits for preliminary and final designs for assigned projects. Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Direct and oversee design, QA/QC, and project workloads. Develop and present proposals for engineering services. Coordinate and approve pricing, estimating, and proposed strategies for proposed projects. Serve as a designated client contact, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction. Supervise and monitor client relationship strategies. Forecast team workload and resource needs. Supervise and mentor technical staff, assigning tasks and conducting performance reviews and career development discussions for team members. Meets/corresponds with clients to obtain direction/feedback. Conduct site visits and attend client meetings, occasionally outside of regular business hours. Ensure accurate client billing and monitor outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on their projects. Engage in business development activities to expand client relationships and opportunities. Maintain regular and constructive communication with clientele and project team members, including regular project meetings. Perform equipment evaluations and develop technical reports. Light travel, mostly in the Houston metro area, for project needs as they arise. Perform additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Strong understanding of the most current water and/or wastewater regulations. Outstanding writing, communications and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Unanet a plus. Must be fluent in the English language.     This Opportunity WSP USA is seeking a Senior Specialist, Ports and Marine Civil/Structural CADD Technician for our National Maritime Practice Group. This position can be based out of the following offices: Portland-OR, Raleigh-NC, Houston-TX, Tampa-FL. Provides technical design and Civil/Structural drafting support for the development, design, and/or construction of structures and facilities for port, marine, and intermodal rail terminal projects in the public and private sector; these facilities may include piers, wharves, port and upland marine terminals, seawalls/bulkheads, dry docks, marinas and other nearshore/offshore facilities. Ensures delivery of work products at a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact * Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assignments for phased design submittals. * Generate CADD drawings, sketches and renderings, on assigned projects, of various scale and/or complexity. * Use CADD, and/or similar software, to resolve design details or discrepancies, in close partnership with staff engineers. * Support accurate and concise design phase deliverables including: reports, civil and structural plans, models, sections, details, and material lists. * Keep up-to-date in technical knowledge of current and emerging practices for drafting. * Collect and compile data from various sources including: site surveys, historical documents, technical drawings, rough sketches, verbal and or written instructions, and other data matrices to support drafting and design activities. * Aid staff engineers on various technical design tasks, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring designs meet required standard specifications. * Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work, including other technicians with specializations in: geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, and architectural drafting. * Assure deliverables adhere to city code, state and federal regulations. * Maintain track record of upholding workplace safety and the ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. * Show ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
