**This Opportunity** WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Full-Time Resident Engineer** for our **Lima, Ohio** office. Be involved in projects with our **CM Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges
**Your Impact**
+ Monitor project progress against schedule and budget
+ Identify and manage potential risks
+ Review contractor submittals, change orders and recommend approvals
+ Oversee quality control and safety compliance
+ Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues
+ Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation
+ Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors
+ Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings
+ Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities
+ Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction experience
+ Experience leading projects and inspectors
+ Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment
+ A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents
+ Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
+ Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience working as an Resident Engineer on underground utility replacement and building construction
+ Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred

Your Key Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities
* Perform water/wastewater engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects such as water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, tunnels, and water and wastewater treatment systems.
* Perform calculations to analyze and design water/wastewater system components.
* Assist in the evaluation and selection of water/wastewater systems and materials and the development of water/wastewater specifications.
* Contribute to the development of water/wastewater systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
* Prepare water/wastewater engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
* Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
* Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
* Attends and assists in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client's goals, site assessments, and vendor/equipment supplier contacts and coordination.
* Participate in basic cost estimating under the direction of technical leaders to support engineering projects.

* Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities
* Designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions
* Managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
* Maintain a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others
* Create work plans and adhere to the budget set by the client and performing strong project management knowledge
* Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
* Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules

Qualifications
* 5+ years of relevant engineering design experience
* Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
* Relevant municipal engineering experience including designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities
* Experience performing hydraulic modeling (using programs such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team

As a Resident Tunnel Engineer, you will be embedded on a project site in Cincinnati, Ohio, supporting ongoing project work for the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati. - Serve as the on-site technical expert for tunnel and trenchless construction activities.
- Oversee daily construction operations, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations, review drawings, and prepare field reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, client representatives, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and facilitate project progress.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tunnel or trenchless design or construction activities and related geotechnical or structural engineering input; additional experience preferred.

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
