Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.

Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years Radiologic Technologist experience preferred

A Day in the Life of a Radiologic Technologist:
Perform radiographic and other imaging procedures as prescribed by a physician. Instruct patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. May be required to prepare and administer barium to patients. Ascertain area of injury or a patient's symptoms to assist the physician in reporting the proper diagnosis.
Must be able to recognize reactions to contrast media and be ready to intervene when necessary by administering CPR.
Assure all necessary consent forms are signed prior to performing examinations. Correctly process pertinent exam related information including data entry as directed. Should be familiar with the operation of the clerical and reception areas of the office and assist when needed, including the management of patient records and files.
Actively participate in the quality assurance monitoring and recording efforts of the office.
Reduce radiation exposure to patients to a minimum to the patient, staff and self by understanding and utilizing proper technical factors, collimation, and shielding without jeopardizing the diagnostic study.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable about and comply with the policies and procedures of the Corporation.
Report any equipment and maintenance problems to the appropriate persons regarding equipment operation, malfunctions, etc., and perform preventative/corrective maintenance as needed.
Take initiative for professional advancement through personal assessment of strengths and weaknesses and develop action plan with supervisors to improve their skills.
May be assigned to perform or assist with the performance of general radiographic procedures, as directed and qualified. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and comply with OSHA regulations at all times.
Promote team approach and a positive image of Solis/Washington Radiology to everyone with whom contact is made utilizing the Promise Book.
Must maintain confidentiality when dealing with all patient information and Corporate business following HIPAA guidelines.
Communicate courteously with coworkers and handle interpersonal problem situations discretely and through the proper chain of command.

Graduation from high school or equivalent and completion of a training program in imaging technology from an accredited school.

The GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) was incorporated in July 2000 as a not-for-profit, physician-led practice group. The organization functioned as an independent organization in support of The George Washington University School of Medicine and Sciences as a multi-specialty physician practice group. Position Summary
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University, is seeking a Radiologic (X-Ray) Technician full-time for our GW Orthopaedic Surgery staff to be a part of collaborative, team-based community practice.
Independently performs diagnostic X-ray examinations on all patient populations and care settings, including administering oral contrast materials when appropriate. Works collaboratively with other care team members to expedite patients' examinations while maintaining excellent patient relations and demonstrating our Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid and current ARRT certification.
Experience
A minimum of 1 year of experience as an X-RayTechnician.
Basic PC skills, including RIS/PACS experience.
Physical Requirements
Walk, stand, and reach outward on a constant basis in a clinical setting.
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs. as part of the role.

The Radiology Technologist assists physicians to identify illnesses and injuries through using diagnostic imaging equipment such as x-ray, CT, MRI, and mammography machines. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs x-rays in accordance with medical provider orders; forwards images to the appropriate radiologist for over-reads; maintains x-ray equipment and adheres to safety standards.
Cleans, stocks, and sterilizes equipment in addition to cleaning and preparing patient rooms for care delivery.
Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Performs related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling/developing/processing films, and maintaining procedure logs.

Ensures radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Administrator.
Supports as back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs in the EMR, and administering injectables.
Supports the medical provider in patient examination, testing and education.
Complies with all governmental and CAO/Practice guidelines, completing all assigned training by the associated deadlines.

Required Education & Experience
Associate degree or equivalent, and completion of an approved RT program.
