Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment

Experience and Education
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (CT) required. Licensed by Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required. Associates degree in Radiologic Sciences or Graduate from AMA approved school; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Job Duties
Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, and applicability to selected CT protocol. Screen patients for contrast allergies, contraindications, and appropriateness that would prohibit or modify the CT exam. Communicate with Radiologists to discuss stat/urgent findings. If modification of a CT protocol is necessary consult with radiologist to determine appropriate CT exam, and document changes as appropriate in electronic health record. Ensure other resources such as nursing, anesthesia, and scheduling are in order.
Interviews patient (two patient identifier), conducts patient screening and obtains medical history pertaining to procedure's clinical criteria. Explains procedure and instructs patient on necessary requirements needed to provide diagnostic images. Answers questions, screening, and administration for oral and IV contrast for relevant exams. Administers intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, while observing patients for adverse reactions. Assists the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensures that images and information are properly documented with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. Utilizes technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with age specific criteria. Completes exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner. Performs CT exams ensuring that patient meets radiation safety requirements to ALARA principles . Assist patient in dressing for exam and attends to patient's physical well-being while transporting to and from exam room and positioning for exam. Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patient's family (as appropriate) regarding the tests to be performed and evaluates the patient's ability to tolerate.
Quality Control ~ Performs QC testing and reports problems with CT system and workstations to the service engineer/biomed, with additional correspondence sent to the physicist and imaging leadership.
Maintains various QA compliances including ACR requirements (ex. daily, monthly, yearly QC) and archives. Participates in accreditation imaging requirements. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.
Responds to inquiries/calls/emails in a timely and professional manner. Utilizes the organizational culture behaviors to include PACT and AIDET. Actively participates in codes and rapid responses. Monitor patients before, during, and after the procedure for safety and prevention of fainting.
Educate patients and families regarding the procedure.
Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients.
Stock procedure rooms with supplies.
Manage CLIA Waived Point of Care Testing, including QC, proper specimen handling, and processing according to manufacturer's instructions.
Take responsibility for lab equipment cleaning, quality control, and sterilization in accordance with OSHA and CLIA guidelines.
Promote and believe in providing quality healthcare services and education to the community in a convenient and compassionate manner.

Your Job: In this highly technical allied imaging professional position, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide the very best imaging services, which include ultrasound, CT scan, diagnostic radiology, and nuclear medicine. The primary purpose of the CT/X-Ray Technologist position is to perform all the imaging and clinical duties of a CT and X-Ray Technologist. In addition, he/she performs special imaging techniques and assists the Radiologist with interventional procedures that require CT guidance.
Your Job Requirements:
* Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program
* Current Basic Life Support certification
* Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists" (ARRT) certification
* Texas Department of State Health certification
* Work Experience: 1 year required
