This X-Ray / Radiology Technologist will be responsible for the following duties:
-Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures
-Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes
-Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies
-Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors
-Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information

REQUIREMENTS:
-Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program
-Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required
-1 year of experience

• Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, and
• Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.

Education Required:

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.

Experience Required:

• No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
• Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
• Must be able to:
• - lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
• - lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
• - carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to:
• - push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
• - perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

In this role you will get to: Responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to humans (age infant through adult) for diagnostic, therapeutic procedures, and/or research purposes, which utilize advanced aspects of computer assisted, digital image recording, and analysis systems. The technologist also assists radiologists with interventional and biopsy procedures. Provides optimal patient care utilizing establishes and accepted techniques. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to interact with patients in a way that is effective and appropriate to the age of the involved patient population.
Education Qualifications:

Must be registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) within two years of hire/transfer to the position.
