Alerts and controls access to anyone about to enter the X-ray room to the danger of entering a radiation emitting area. Acts as a gatekeeper to maintain a safe environment. Stops imaging if problems arise. Minimizes radiation exposure while maintaining sufficient dose for diagnostic quality images. Solves problems in real time and escalates when necessary for quality and patient safety. Participates in the training of X-ray students in their clinical rotation as needed. Education/Certificates/Licenses: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Life Support Certified by American Heart Association Graduate of a certified school of X-ray technology Registered as a fully licensed X-ray technologist by ARRT bypassing the registry exam and qualifying for the position.
