The Lead X-Ray Technologist (Special Procedures)is responsible for technical work involving the operation of complex x-ray equipment for the purpose of taking radiographs of various designated portions of the body using special procedures, to assist physicians in the detection of foreign bodies and the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. Work involves the proper positioning of patient, the development of the x-rays, the maintenance of radiographic files for a prescribed period. Lead Technologist (Special Procedures) is distinguished from Senior Technologist in that incumbents must possess training and/or previous experience in the performance of special radiological procedures, such as the operation of CAT Scan equipment, and are assigned in one of these specialty areas. Partial supervision may be exercised over x-raytechnicians, non-professional and clerical support staff in the way of quality control of work, and providing technical assistance. Experience:
Two years experience in a hospital x-ray department or a private radiological laboratory performing all types of diagnostic work including the operation of special procedures equipment such as CAT scan, angiographic or neurographic equipment.
Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of of a valid license and current registration issued by the New York State Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist in the field of diagnostic radiography.
Special Requirements:
Must be certified and maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in the field of Radiography.

Performing the more common X-ray studies: Chest, Extremity, Spinal X-ray and Abdomen X-ray
Properly documenting X-ray studies performed and facilitating the communication between the Provider and Radiologist by using all internal X-ray and care coordination software

Troubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions and informing Site Manager and X-Ray Manager when service needs to be contacted

Performing vital signs and documenting results in the EMR

The Mobile Radiologic Technologist, Driving (βMobile RTβ) works with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of our patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for patients, including performing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. The Mobile RT Driving works across sites near one another. As patient care needs arise requiring X-ray, the Mobile RT Driving travels to the respective site. The traveling nature of this role requires the Mobile RT Driving to be flexible and responsive to the needs of patients and the organization. The Mobile RT Driving will be exposed to a variety of urgent care settings, maximizing the quantity of X-Rays performed. Travel within the region includes by car, and will require the Mobile RT Driving, as a condition of employment, to have access to a vehicle, a valid State driver's license, and to pass an MVR background check.
β Key Responsibilities | Responsible for x-ray services as needed
Under the clinical direction of the Medical Provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Travel between multiple sites to provide X-ray services
Will need to push patient in a wheelchair
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
The traveling nature of this role requires the Mobile RT Driving to be flexible and responsive to the needs of patients and the organization.
