Type of Employment: Part-Time, 20 hours per week.
Period of Performance: 01 January 2026 to 30 September 2026
Estimate Pay: $31.88 to 36.97/hour.
Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.

Working Hours
The Radiologic Technologist will normally work Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, except on Federal holidays. Radiology Technologists will not work more than 20 hours a week.
Summary of Duties
Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision, professionalism, and adherence to established protocols. This includes specimen identification, labeling, and handling to support diagnostic testing and patient care. The Phlebotomist interacts directly with patients, providing compassionate service while maintaining infection control standards and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Must be licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
Must have an unrestricted state license to practice in the state of Florida as a Radiological Technologist.
Be a graduate from an accredited school or program for a Radiological Technologist.
Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
A minimum of two (2) years of Radiological Technologist experience.
Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified either by the American Red Cross (ARC)or the American Heart Association (AHA).

Attire
Radiologic Technologist is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms are approved). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the BPA employee will be performing. The contractor is prohibited from wearing khaki or green, as these are the colors the adults in custody wear.
Duties and Responsibilities
The current radiological equipment provided is a digital machine.
Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the AIC population.
Transmit, retrieve X-ray images and report electronically, and scan reports into the Adults in Custody (AICs) Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
Receive training to retrieve radiographic consultants from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
Work with an AIC population from a variety of cultural, racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs. Possess knowledge of basic emergencies that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
Schedule exams and maintain records.
Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety. Independently perform all radiographic procedures, i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable x-rays, etc.
Notify the Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while the patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care. Work with the Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
Develop a working knowledge of FCC Yazoo Citys medical protocols.
Wear outer protective clothing and always obey CDC universal precautions.
Function in other duties commensurate with a Radiological Technician.

Printing of all folders and exam labels.

Transport of X-rays to the radiologist for interpretation.
Transport all x-rays from the radiologist after interpretation.
Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on X-ray equipment as needed.
Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for JCAHO and program review as needed.
Assuring that all X-ray requests are appropriately completed.
Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis.
Assuring that all X-rays are operational and aprons are checked for leaks and breaks according to policy. Maintain log.
Receive badges exposure reports. Give to the Clinical Director or designee for review and signature. Ensure that high exposures are documented.
Prepare forms for badge orders quarterly. Maintain log.

Education/Experience:
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training at an A.M.A. approved school and meets requirements for registry by A.R.R.T.

Part-time, as needed (PRN) position available for a Radiology Technologist to work under the direction of the Georgia Regional Offices Manager.
Duties include: operating radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, to include C-Arm equipment; adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of the specified body area; operating equipment at the computer console for storage, transfer, playback data, and generating images; assuring patient safety and satisfaction; positioning patients on examining table; explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtaining patient cooperation and confidence; examining radiology film for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness.
Hours are between 8am-5pm Monday - Friday. Some variations may occur due to physicians' schedules.
Applicants must have advanced knowledge of anatomy, medical terms, and radiology equipment. Position requires successful completion of an accredited radiology program, valid Florida license as a Radiology Technologist, and registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT).
