The faculty in the Department of Mathematics invite applications for two non-tenure-track Teaching Professors, starting in Fall 2022. The Teaching Professor position is renewable on an annual basis, with the potential after six years for promotion to Senior Teaching Professor with a rolling two-year renewable contract. The Department of Mathematics at Xavier seeks to build a community that champions and promotes the mathematician in everyone. We are home to four undergraduate degree programs and offer minors in mathematics, statistics, and applied mathematics. Our department currently has 20 faculty members, four of whom are teaching professors. A Teaching Professor normally teaches introductory-level mathematics or statistics courses aimed at students not majoring in mathematics. The typical load is four courses each semester. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications to teach Fitness Assessment & Design Labs at Xavier University include a master's or terminal degree or have taken 18 credit hours of graduate work, in the following fields: Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or Motor Behavior; or have a minimum of 5 years of experience in exercise science and a relevant certification in the field of exercise science, and/or previous teaching experience at an accredited college or university.

Preferred qualifications include work or teaching experience using exercise assessment devices for health-related fitness. This position will include teaching three, one-credit hour labs in the exercise science major coursework. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester basis.
