Collects & assess thermal energy customer usage and process data from multiple sources to create accurate and timely customer billings and reimbursements. Reports issues relating to revenues, forecasting, pricing, cost of services, business performance, and capital projects. Ensures terms and conditions of various regulated and non-regulated contracts and leases are met. Provides general office support and process improvements. **Essential Responsibilities** + Operates and maintains the customer billing database for Thermal Energy Steam and Chilled Water businesses to be billed in CRS. Examples of routine and non-routine operations are: rate changes, prorates, adding/removing customers, etc. Processes and analyzes data from various sources using existing or devised programs in order to perform bill validation. + Provides data reporting that includes customer revenues, pricing, equipment, and plant operating characteristics which affect cost of goods sold, determining actual unit costs, preparing forecasts and comparing with actuals, and reports on business performance. + Responsible for maintaining contract compliance with the terms and conditions of various regulated and unregulated steam and chilled water customer long-term contracts and leases. Examples would be adjusting the billing database to accept escalations, discounts, varying terms, electric reimbursements on leased plants, etc. + Supports and participates in teams by gathering and analyzing data; supports all management. Assists in the preparation and compilation of business plans, budgets, and scorecards. + Assists plant managers with the prioritization and scheduling of work orders. Coordinates with the plant managers to ensure weekly crew schedule integrity. Prepares work management system reports, including maintenance backlog reports. + Works as a liaison between billing, finance, and other key departments to ensure processes are integrated. + Advanced troubleshooting of steam and chilled water customer billing issues. Follows established rules regarding late charges, customer written communications, etc. + Develops and reviews billing processes, procedures, and tools to ensure billing accuracy and process consistency + Responsible for receiving of goods and services ordered by plant managers. Responsible for timely and accurate payment of invoices. **Minimum Requirements** + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Ability to effectively communicate and work successfully across business units as well as with Xcel Energy's customers. + Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Must possess strong analytical skills as well as proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. **Preferred Characteristics:** + Additional education in accounting or finance or business. + Familiarity with utility billing systems and utility regulatory requirements is desired.
