As a Child Watch Attendant, you will ensure a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age
Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children
Play actively with the children by adapting activities to the needs of each

As a Before and After School Floater is responsible for supporting and assisting Before and After School staff in implementing childcare program services. The position fills in for absent staff, assist with daily routines, and provide extra support to children and teachers. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, monitor and engage with children.
Drive personal vehicle to assigned worksite (school) to serve as childcare teacher when needed in the event of a childcare teacher absence.
Prepare or assist with preparing supplies and materials in advance for use by children and prepare the classroom for children's use when transitioning from one activity to another.
Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety, and our YMCA values which includes implementation of proximity praise, specific action compliments, and our 8 Points of Leadership.
Maintain positive public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.
Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Come alongside school personnel to support academic goals and plans for children and school.
Maintain and clean site location and equipment, including cleaning and sanitizing after snack, washing tables, sweeping floors, moving tables and chairs, storing materials, and locking cabinets, etc.
Attend and participate in family nights and program activities.
Understand the Washington Administrative Code to ensure program is in compliance at all times.
Keep all certifications current.
Treat every participant fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves and encouraging a fun environment.
Greet all parents daily and inform them of all program changes. Communicate frequently with parents concerning their child's behavior, academic progress, and socialization in the program.
Directly supervise children at all times and maintain program/site in compliance with state licensing standards.
Follow the guidelines, policies, and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, Child Abuse Prevention, and emergencies, in the YMCA parent handbook, and YMCA employee handbook.
Dispense medication according to the Medication Authorization Form and maintain accurate records of such. Ensure proper storage of medication according to required standards. Return medication to parents/guardian, as needed.
Communicate effectively with licensors, Lead Teachers, and Program Directors.
Implement curriculum, providing an integrated, child centered, comprehensive curriculum and multicultural environment, which meets the needs of every child, including those with disabilities.
Work a split shift, Monday through Friday.
Attend occasional meetings and trainings outside of regular split shift.
Set every child up for success; assist in implementing established “Plan of Success” form when needed.

Qualifications:

Collaborate with Marketing and Membership staff to promote programs to engage potential participants; conducting screening conversations and enroll participants.

Participate in all required Lifestyle Coach discussions (meetings, emails, or conference calls) and professional development opportunities, offering ideas and tools for facilitation to other team members.

Record weekly data for each participant (attendance, weight, physical activity minutes, food tracker completion) in electronic database according to data entry timing requirements. Participate in program progress and outcome tracking.

Qualifications:
At least one year of experience teaching lifestyle behavior change classes preferred.
Experience with referral management and/or care coordination to various services.
Knowledge of the fitness components of an aerobic or group exercise class and strength training.

Communicate effectively with licensors, Lead Teachers, and Program Directors.
Implement curriculum, providing an integrated, child centered, comprehensive curriculum and multicultural environment, which meets the needs of every child, including those with disabilities.
Work a split shift, Monday through Friday.
Attend occasional meetings and trainings outside of regular split shift.
Set every child up for success; assist in implementing established “Plan of Success” form when needed.

If hired for this position, you will also be responsible for promoting member engagement and safety by maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring the safety of our members at all times by vigilantly scanning the water and pool deck areas, monitoring activities, identifying safety issues and concerns, enforcing rules, and following YMCA emergency procedures and protocols.
Instructing swimming lessons in basic and advanced stroke skills to youth members.
Performing necessary rescue actions, administering first aid and CPR in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the “safe-in-six” model; completing related reports as required.
Preparing class lesson plans with a natural progression of appropriate skills for the abilities and ages of the classes.
Knowing, understanding, consistently communicating, and applying safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic areas.
Attending monthly, quarterly, and/or annual training and certification courses.
Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff.

You have a current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
You are at least 16 years old.
You have six months or more of related aquatics experience (preferred).
You have previous experience working with youth and diverse populations.
You are able and willing to take Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day as well as other online and in-person trainings as required.
Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard.
Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
Wages: $18.00 to $18.50 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

As the Health Specialist, you will supervise the healthcare program and health center operations. Help maintain a safe, healthy camp environment using preventative health care and risk management techniques assist in running healthcare program and health center operations.
In addition, you will review health histories, dispense personal medication, and provide first aid and medical care to all campers and staff in accordance with camp medical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Possess a devotion to ensuring the safety and growth of campers, and help train staff in preventative health and risk management.

Maintain a clean, professional, and organized Health Center and camper patient room; sharing the responsibility of 24 hour health hut Coverage with other Health Care Staff.

Coordinate and supervise Health Center check in/out: medication intake, lice checks and health screening.
Review and maintain all medications and health forms at check in and thereafter.
Establish and maintain clear phone, and in person, communication with parents regarding campers' health.
Communicate health, allergy, or behavioral concerns to Camp Director, unit leaders and Staff as appropriate.
Maintain HIPAA compliant.
Qualifications:

Current RN License, or greater.
Practical knowledge of the organization and distribution of medications, pediatric care.
Outstanding ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to train, motivate, and support staff; communicate openly with supervisor; support and connect with campers; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; behave as an appropriate positive role model in all camp activities.
Sensitivity to the needs of families including adults and children.
Current CPR, epinephrine administration certification, and AED for duration of the season required.
Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Wage: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
