Yakima Herald-Republic company history timeline

1889

E.M. Reed and James R. Coe founded the Yakima Herald in February 1889.

1893

These frequent changes in ownership perhaps reflect the financial difficulties businesses in the Yakima Valley faced following the Panic of 1893.

1898

In 1898, Robert McComb also purchased an interest in the Herald, and George Tuesley's brother Walter joined the staff.

1899

Bailey left the Herald in 1899 to work for a steamboat company.

1905

On November 28, 1905, George Tuesley installed a linotype machine and started publishing the daily Yakima Morning Herald in addition to the weekly Herald.

1914

The weekly Herald ceased publication in 1914.
