As a Medical Records/Transportation Coordinator, you are responsible to organize, file, and compile a variety of medical records and information, including progress notes, treatment plans, nursing and clinical notes, and discharge summaries, into the patients' medical records. Create and maintain medical record files, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner. As well as be responsible for coordinating medical transportation services for patients who require transportation to medical appointments. The Medical Records/Transportation Coordinator is additionally responsible for... Sorting, prepping, scanning and reviewing charts. Maintaining records accurately, while keeping all records confidential. Carefully identify records and follow release of information guidelines. Maintain all transportation information. Prepare and maintain a filing system for all documentation such as letters, reports, forms, medical transportation data, etc. Schedule appointments for servicing and maintenance of transportation vehicles. Gather information to answer questions and provide details regarding options, and offer suggestions for cost-effective, appropriate travel arrangements. Discuss routes, time schedules, covered rates, and accommodation provisions for patients. Ensure communications are forwarded to the Maintenance Supervisor that the medical transportation vehicle is operational and regular service/maintenance checks are completed for the safe operation of the vehicles. Arrange transportation to and from appointments (i.e. doctors' appointments, hospital care, diagnostic tests) Don't forget... Must be computer knowledgeable, organized and able to work well with others. A CNA certificate is a plus! Knowledge of basic medical terminology Must have 1 year experience in a health care related field Skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.
