Primary responsibility to be assigned based upon daily need (i.e., dishroom. pot washer, porter, hot food dipper, runner). Responsibility includes cleaning and sanitizing soiled serviceware and equipment in both the kitchen and cafeteria, setting up hot food work station and assembling patient food trays.

Responsibilities
* 1. Cleans pots and pans using pot machine as required. Cleans serviceware using dish machine as required.
* 2. Maintains general work area in clean and orderly manner. Checks equipment to ensure proper temperatures are registering. Records temperatures daily in log. Uses disposable gloves when working, and observes sanitation procedures before handling utensils or food items. Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area for other assignment.
* 3. Sweeps mops and scrubs kitchen floors. Demonstrates alertness to areas needing attention in avoiding the spread of infection or unsafe conditions such as blocking traffic areas, wet floors, etc.
* 4. Assembles trays for general and therapeutic diets. Conscientiously prepares and portions special food items necessary for patient tray service. Promptly reports to stations or trayline at specified starting time. Always sets up work station with correct food items. Promptly reports food shortage or malfunctioning equipment on the trayline.
* 5. Performs other related duties as necessary including, but not limited too, the following. Fills ice in soda machine daily. Fills soda and juice machines daily.
* 6. Attends in-service meetings as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED preferred.. Employees employed by YNHH effective 9/12/2012 as a result of the acquisition of the Hospital of St Raphael may meet educational requirements with the applicable combination of education and experience and demonstration of current competences.
EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months to one (1) year in the foodservice industry preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to stand in one place for up to three (3) hours. Must be able to push and pull food delivery trucks. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform similar or related duties as required or directed.

Job Summary
Provides routine support services such as preparing patient trays, assisting with food preparation, replenishing supplies, washing dishes, and operating equipment in the cafeteria such as the cash register, cash handling, and/or patient tray service areas. Maintains proper sanitation of foodservice areas and equipment and adheres to stringent food handling procedures.
Performs assigned routine foodservice tasks in a specific area under close supervision to meet foodservice demands.
