Responsibilities
1. Performs quality and efficient ultrasound exams in order to assist with a patient's diagnostic work-up
1.1 Follows routine protocols and/or physicians specific prescriptions. Repeat of examinations due to non-compliance or poor quality is minimal as observed by manager / supervisor or physician review.
2. Provides accurate and compassionate patient care in order to ensure service excellence, patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
2.1 Identifies patients and exams accurately 100% of the time according to departmental policy as observed by supervisor or other hospital staff.

Assists the cardiologist and/or angiographer during the performance of cardiac catheterization with and without angioplasty. Understands all technical aspects of Cardiac Catheterization and Primary Cardiac Angioplasty.
6. SLEEP LAB SPECIFIC: Under the general supervision of the Sleep Medical Director perform various in and out of lab sleep testing to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Knowledge and understanding of indications and contraindications for noninvasive ventilation and oxygen therapy. Educate patients as needed on sleep disease processes and current therapies that are being utilized. Coordinates quality assurance data collection and other daily processes including a variety of duties to support the operations of the department. Able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff as needed.

8. Collects, prepares and processes specimens as directed by the provider. Completes process by assuring specimen results are logged in the accession book and are reconciled in the patients record.

10. Coaches and educates colleagues in office regarding procedures and techniques as new members join the group.

Each specimen is scanned onto the packing list individually with a barcode scanner ensuring that all specimen are accounted for and are tracked in the EMR
* 40. When specimen are unaccounted for, the blood draw room and surrounding areas are examined to ensure that they were sent via courier
* 41. Specimen are placed in the locked specimen pick-up boxes at times when Blood Draw Stations are closed and couriers cannot enter the facilities for pick-up
* 42. Responsible for assuring specimen integrity from the point of obtaining the specimen at the Blood Draw Station through courier pick up

EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved Phlebotomy certification course or equivalent experience with on the job training
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of six (6) months of current phlebotomy experience OR successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy program and internship. Two (2) to three (3) years' work experience in a customer service environment preferably in hospital /physician office with patient interaction

Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care in patient care within scope of practice standards, as well as specialty specific standards to address and resolve problems that may arise. Overview: A call CRNA is part of a core team of dedicated CRNAs who provide timely anesthetic and emergency care for patients in a 24/7 model. This position is full-time and distinguished from non-call CRNAs who have a regular, patterned schedule. A call CRNA position entails a flexible, non-pattered schedule with in-house call responsibilities including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays. A call CRNA possesses excellent clinical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A call CRNA is eligible for the call compensation program in recognition of the position and commitment to the core team. Schedule Requirements: Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in-house call rotation in partnership with other members of the core call team. EDUCATION
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Completion of Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist Council on accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut.
EXPERIENCE
Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line recommended, but none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs are required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Evidence of current competence to practice as {an APRN, PA, CRNA, CNM} via appropriate reference letters from physicians and other practitioners must be able to be obtained during the Medical Staff appointment process in order to be eligible.

SPECIAL SKILLS
CRNA's must have sharp concentration and focus, along with the ability to stay calm under stressful conditions. CRNAs must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with surgeons and the surgical support team, as well as with patients and their families. A calm and reassuring manner is one way to inspire trust in patients, who may be apprehensive about surgery, as well as the surgical team. Anesthetic patient management must be immediate and responsive. Flexibility and adaptability are required.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
A CRNA must be able to demonstrate intellectual-conceptual, integrative and quantitative abilities; skills in observation, communication and motor functions; and mature behavioral and social attributes. Sensory- CRNA must be able to detect and interpret changes in monitoring alarms and equipment. Functional vision, hearing. no impairment of sense of smell and tactile sensation must be adequate. CRNA must be able to observe a patient accurately at a distance and close.Communication-CRNA should be able to speak, hear and observe. CRNA must be able to communicate effectively- includes speech, reading and writing.Motor -CRNA should have sufficient motor function to elicit pertinent information. CRNAs should be able to stand for long periods of time and wear lead as needed for fluoroscopy, X-Ray cases. CRNAs must have the ability to lift 25 pounds and reach above and below shoulder height. CRNA must be able to negotiate patient care environments and be able to move self/patients between anesthesia locations. Coordination of both gross and fine muscular movements, equilibrium, and functional use of the senses of touch and vision is required. Intellectual-Conceptual, Integrative and Quantitative Abilities-Abilities include measurement, calculation, reasoning, analysis and synthesis. Problem-solving, the critical skill demanded requires all of these intellectual abilities. CRNA should be able to comprehend 3-dimensional relationships and understand the spatial relationships. Behavioral and Social Attributes -CRNA must possess the emotional health required for full utilization of intellectual abilities, the exercise of good judgment, the prompt completion of responsibilities. CRNA must be able to tolerate physically taxing workloads and to function effectively under stress and able to adapt to changing environments, display flexibility and learn to function in the face of uncertainties inherent in the clinical problems of many patients.
