Follows universal precautions including the use of gloves, gowns and masks as appropriate. Cleans and disinfects between each patient and can perform/document high level disinfection appropriately. Consistently indicates in Magview that infection control was completed prior to the start of the exam. Keeps work area, waiting rooms and dressing rooms clean and tidy and stocks work area with laundry and medical supplies on a daily basis.
Maintains Mammography, Stereotactic and/or Bone Density Department quality control standards and updates all necessary logs. Initiates equipment service requests and notifies supervisor as necessary. Summary:
To provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities:
1. Assesses the patient's condition by obtaining a complete medical history obtaining physical data and reviewing the patient's medical record.
2. Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the illness.
3. Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriate diagnosis & therapeutic treatment plan.
4. Consults with other physicians and medical specialists in accordance with the Practice's policies & medical standards to assure patient & physician satisfaction.
5. Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart & reviews the typed dictation.
6. Instructs the patient and family regarding the patients diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcome & future prevention.
7. Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results, calling the patients and/or requesting a return visit to ensure efficient, timely & cost effective medical care.
8. Provides medical guidance to and encourages the continued development of the Practice's physicians' assistants, nursing staff, medical support staff & rotating interns as it relates to medical care of the patient.
9. Ensures the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
10. Promotes the Practice's fiscal viability and supports the achievement of financial goals.
11. Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.
12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the management of the Clinical Engineering Department the incumbent will perform integration and maintenance work on medical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and trouble shoot problems with highly sophisticated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and computer based technology. The incumbent will provide training to colleagues, vendors and other personnel of the Yale New Haven Health System. They will attend clinical education sessions to educate staff, students and others on the operation, hazards and healthcare necessity of the equipment.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Certification and/or proven record of training in the maintenance of technologically advanced equipment required. An associate's degree in a technical field through mechanical, electrical, biomedical or other proven comparable education level required. Bachelor's level degree in electrical, mechanical, or biomedical technical training is preferable.
EXPERIENCE
Thorough knowledge of technologically advanced equipment with a minimum of three (3) years experience and proof of cost savings through personal maintenance efforts. OR Thorough knowledge of technologically advanced medical equipment with a minimum of one (1) year experience, and associate's degree in related field OR Thorough knowledge of technologically advanced medical equipment with a minimum of internship and bachelor's degree in related field.
SPECIAL SKILLS
