    The purpose of DRG validation is to confirm that diagnostic, procedural information, and the discharge status of the beneficiary, as coded and reported by the hospital on its claim, matches both the attending physician's description and the information contained in the beneficiary's medical record. Responsible for performing quality reviews of medical records to validate correctness and appropriateness of the assigned International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS) codes and the Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG). The CRM reviews the physician documentation for specificity, completeness and quality to support coding accuracy, and to identify physician query opportunities to improve the documentation. The CRM will follow the official coding rules, guidelines and conventions to validate coded data and ensure high quality and compliance with regulatory requirements. The CRM works in conjunction with the Associate Director and Director of DRG Validation to help develop coding education and training and institutional coding policies to achieve coding excellence. **Qualifications** + A strong background in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and working experience with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding is required. + Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience coding in an acute care hospital. Assesses and evaluates cancer care through interaction with patients and surveys, and implements quality improvement projects as needed. 7. Serves as a representative of the cancer program/service line and lead person for coordination of care for patients. 8. Representing the cancer program provides education through health fairs and presentations to the community. 9. Supervises the volunteers within the cancer program, assuring compliance with appropriate patient interaction and confidentiality of information. 10. Participates as a member of the Cancer Committee; achieves the organization's established expectations with regard to customer service, teamwork, safety, and self-development. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Other Information: Required: RN License. Experience in oncology nursing/case management. Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to conduct education programs. Minimum Experience: five years Oncology certification or eligible. Candidate will be expected to have taken the GW Navigation program training, and if not, it will be expected within the first 6 months of employment. Education Requirement: Bachelor's preferred, Associates. Desired: Certification in Case Management and Oncology nursing.
