    About the role The Ishizuka Lab (Yale School of Medicine) is recruiting a post-graduate dry lab Research Associate to drive analysis and biological insights from multi-modal and single cell genomics data gathered from patient tumor immune samples and murine models. A portion of the role will also include support of the development and application of next-gen AI-enabled protein design approaches. We are seeking, reliable, self-motivated and ambitious candidates who will be trusted to build reproducible analyses, produce interpretable results and communicate clearly with experimental and computational team members. Co-authorship is supported. Support and supervise Yale graduate and undergraduate students engaged in biological anthropology research * Provides laboratory and field research logistical support for graduate and undergraduate student research. * In coordination with other Yale units, provides data science support (e.g. DISCC, FDS), trains students and assistants on the fundamentals of database development and maintenance. * Provides mentorship and scholarly/scientific support to undergraduate students for their senior theses, assists students to publish work, and mentors undergraduate assistants through technical training and development. * Prepares needed datasets/samples/materials for biological anthropology related graduate and undergraduate classes of biological anthropology faculty. * Works with, supervises, and trains multiple undergraduate and graduate students through technical laboratory aspects of research. 3. Support university and department community outreach initiatives * Provides larger community services through the following efforts: * Supports the larger university community in identifying, recording, and describing the complex Biological Anthropology-related collections across the institution. * Works with the Yale Peabody Museum with curatorial research needs and responsibilities that engage anthropology researchers. * In consultation with faculty and anthropology department leadership, works with external community members (i.e., media, grade-school inquiries, community organizations) seeking information related to biological anthropology. The position may involve: * Coordinating the purchase and use of research equipment (i.e., radioactive isotope equipment, data management hardware and software, field technology) through corresponding Yale units to comply with institutional/local/national/international regulations (e.g. export of software), preparation of samples, and training/supervising students in the preparation of samples (specifically fossil enamel for stable isotope and radiocarbon). * In coordination and with guidance from the research PIs, determination of the process and best practices for importing/exporting delicate and/or frozen samples globally. * Supporting the laboratory and field research needs of postdoctoral fellows/associates and graduate students associated with biological anthropology research programs/projects * Ensuring that the on-campus and off-campus faculty research sites meet appropriate standards, requirements, compliance, and certifications as required by US Federal Agencies supporting the faculty research. * Assisting with the management and inventory of samples:, supplies, appropriate storage, use, and recording of biological and paleontological samples locally and globally, and developing and maintaining label and barcode systems. * Processing of shipments to domestic and international collaborators. Working with local/international collaborators to arrange shipment of samples from international sites to Yale. * Monitoring of local and incoming samples. Works with PIs to manage material transfer agreements, export controls, as well as IACUC and IRB permissions. We are seeking to hire a versatile Postdoctoral Associate with experience in a number of areas of cancer research, cancer metabolism, immunometabolism, genomics and therapeutics. The candidate should be highly enthusiastic about conducting cancer research and should ideally be committed to pursuing a career in the cancer field as demonstrated by track record of prior publications and related accomplishments from doctoral studies. The project will require the use of cell lines and mouse models to mechanistically determine how tumor-intrinsic and systemic metabolism impacts cancer therapy. The HCV Navigator will primarily work on the Community Health Care Van's grant funded program (COMPASS) for the testing, treatment, and cure of hepatitis C. The HCV Navigator 2 will participate in the planning, implementation, and execution of recruitment, enrollment, and consent participants who are at risk for HCV (people with a history of injection drug use). The HCV Navigator 2 will work closely with the CHCV clinicians to plan the outreach schedule of locations and will contact sites in the New Haven area. The HCV Navigator 2 will be trained to conduct the HCV RNA point of care test using the Cepheid GeneXpert technology. The test involves using a lancet to perform a finger stick to collect a blood sample. The HCV navigator will perform rapid HIV testing concurrently. During the testing visit the HCV Navigator 2 will conduct other standardized assessments as part of a syndemic screening tool, including a depression screening, a health related social needs assessment, and screening for substance use. The HCV Navigator 2 will educate participants on HCV treatment and counsel patients about results. For participants with a positive HCV RNA result, the HCV Navigator 2 will connect participants with a phlebotomist or lab for bloodwork, connect the participant to the CHCV medical provider for same day treatment, and assist with ordering HCV medications for treatment, and register new and existing patients into the electronic medical record. The HCV Navigator 2 will maintain an ongoing list of patients and will present patients for Case Conference meetings. The HCV Navigator 2 will also provide adherence support, including directly observed therapy as needed. The HCV Navigator will also connect the client to mental health and substance use treatment services as needed, and provide case management support for other needs. The HCV Navigator 2 may also conduct STI screening, pregnancy tests, and assessments for cirrhosis with participants. The HCV Navigator 2 can be trained in phlebotomy if desired. The lab has several ongoing clinical research studies, with a primary focus on investigating the pathophysiology of the complications of Pediatric obesity in youth. You will have the opportunity to interact with both patients and healthcare professionals in the hospital, clinic, and laboratory settings. The HCV Navigator will primarily work on the Community Health Care Van's grant funded program (COMPASS) for the testing, treatment, and cure of hepatitis C. The HCV Navigator will recruit, enroll, and consent participants who are at risk for HCV (people with a history of injection drug use). The HCV Navigator will be trained to conduct the HCV RNA point of care test using the Cepheid GeneXpert technology. The test involves using a lancet to perform a finger stick to collect a blood sample. The HCV navigator will perform rapid HIV testing concurrently. During the testing visit the HCV Navigator will conduct other standardized assessments as part of a syndemic screening tool, including a depression screening, a health related social needs assessment, and screening for substance use. The HCV Navigator will educate participants on HCV treatment and counsel patients about results. For participants with a positive HCV RNA result, the HCV Navigator will connect participants with a phlebotomist or lab for bloodwork, connect the participant to the CHCV medical provider for same day treatment, and assist with ordering HCV medications for treatment, and register new and existing patients into the electronic medical record. The HCV Navigator will also provide adherence support, including directly observed therapy as needed. The HCV Navigator will also connect the client to mental health and substance use treatment services as needed, and provide case management support for other needs. The HCV Navigator may also conduct STI screening, pregnancy tests, and assessments for cirrhosis with participants. The HCV Navigator can be trained in phlebotomy if desired. The position will also provide overdose and infectious disease prevention education. Outreach and testing may be done on the mobile unit, the clinical storefront, or outreach partner settings. The HCV Navigator will contribute to other CHCV projects including community clean up of syringe litter, naloxone distribution, vending machine stocking, welcoming clients at the front desk, and organizing the Community Advisory Board. The HCV Navigator will provide connection to peer and health supportive incentives. Creates collaborative case management plan and provides care coordination and navigation, including scheduling follow-up HCV and other medical and project visits, assists participants in attending wrap-around service visits. Assists clients with working towards identified health goals, such as PrEP initiation, treatment initiation, or continuation of medications for substance use disorders or mental illness, and wound care initiation and follow-up. We are seeking a Research Assistant (RA) for the Yale ADRU to assist in the coordination of observational studies and clinical trials for individuals with normal cognition, Alzheimer's Disease, and other cognitive disorders. Primary duties include scheduling participants per study protocol, administering standardized neuropsychological tests and questionnaires to participants and their study partners, and performing clinical assessments such as vital signs, phlebotomy and electrocardiograms. RAs are responsible for maintaining research records, completing case report forms, entering data into electronic data capture systems, providing sponsors with requested clinical and regulatory information, and resolving data queries in a timely manner. Laboratory responsibilities include processing fluid biomarker samples, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and preparing laboratory specimens for shipment. RAs will assist with the preparation of research protocols, including protocol renewals, amendments and all related materials for submission to the investigational review board (IRB). RAs may assist in writing and editing material for scientific publication and presentation. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Clinical or Research Environment Experience: Ability to work well in clinical or research settings. 2. Data Management: Proficiency in data entry, data management, and basic analysis using tools such as Excel and REDCap. 3.
