The Warehouse Manager coordinates and plans the storage and distribution of products and materials in the warehouse, and also ensures orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities. This position will be accountable for all activities of the warehouse staff receiving, storing, and ensuring the quality of goods to include adherence to SOPs. The Warehouse Manager will ensure adherence to all corporate safety and HAZMAT policies and security procedures. In this role, you will make decisions regarding inventory issues and confirm compliance within Yamaha/JSOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) guidelines. What you'll be doing: Leadership, supervisory, and functional responsibilities over various departmental processes and warehouse staff. Provide leadership to employees through effective communication, coaching, training, and staff development. Oversee receiving and bulk inventory (put-away / picking) with integrated involvement of packaging, shipping, warehousing, inventory, and cross docking operations. Establish, manage, and report against metrics and KPI targets for the warehouse staff to meet MBO's and sales goals. Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of warehouse staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Yamaha's policies and applicable laws. Plans, assigns, and directs work for warehouse staff. Conducts periodic employee evaluations. Rewards and disciplines staff under the guidance of the Operations / Warehouse Manager. Addresses employee complaints and resolves problems. Maintains the proper level of temporary staff. Maintain an elevated level of awareness of the Safety, Kaizen and 5S programs in accordance with MBO targets. Maintains and updates operational manuals. Ensures warehouses are compliant with all Federal, State, and JSOX rules for warehouse operations. Maintain, update, train SOP's, keep adherence to processes, evaluates and act when SOP/process improvements are required to meet the needs of the business and positively influence/impact KPI results. Communicate with direct report(s) and department team members daily/weekly reinforcing adherence to SOP's, processes, KPI results/status, attendance, projects, and general communication with the team, peers, and management. Oversee cycle counting, replenishment, picking, and shipping operations for domestic and export orders. Establish, manage, track and report against metrics and KPIs targets for the warehouse staff to meet MBO and sales goals. Instruct and train the warehouse staff on safety and HAZMAT procedures. Ensure adherence to all safety and HAZMAT procedures and applicable policies. Maintain employee records regarding training. What you need to be successful: AS/BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field of study preferred. Must have minimum 6 - 10 years of warehouse operations/distribution experience. Must be able to train and direct warehouse staff. Experience in Kaizen / 5S methodology strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving skills. Able to multi-task and can work in a constantly shifting priority environment. Able to work well with internal and external stakeholders. Able to work well under pressure. Must be able to follow written and oral directions and be able to communicate well with others orally and in writing. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8-10 hours per shift) and lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
