2nd shift Lumber yard Supervisor

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for supervising the scheduling and coordination of trucks and drivers according to customer requests and in compliance with Dot regulations and company rules. Control departmental expenses and generate solutions to issues as and before they arise. Notifies the Drivers of assignments; reviews and verifies accuracy of drivers logs and data base.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

*Mange and schedule all outbound and inbound loads and coordinates with sales and production.

* Coordinates proper loading and shipping orders with S/R personnel.

* Sets up all Loads to be shipped common carrier with outside freight companies.

* Makes sure inbound product is stored properly.

* Determines mode of transportation and selects appropriate carrier.

* Negotiates rates for transportation services.

* Coordinates routing of orders, and dispatches carrier with orders and appropriate delivery instructions consistent with customer receiving times.

* Ensures all internal/external paperwork meets all Universal as well as Dot regulations and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE:

* Preferred bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent

*Minimum of two years of experience as production manager or equivalent

* Working knowledge of Microsoft office including Excel, Word and Outlook

Skills and abilities

* Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking

* Ability to successfully interact with all organizational Levels and the public

Westview Concrete Corp is currently hiring for a full-time Concrete / Construction Yard Supervisor to manage our plant and building supply yard in the Avon, OH area. This plant manager position earns a competitive salary of $45,000 to $65,000/year , depending on experience.

DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a half-day on Saturday .

In this plant manager role, you oversee the daily operations of our plant and building supply yard. When you arrive at work, you perform opening duties, setting the stage for organized and efficient operations. Throughout the day, you supervise yardmen, drivers, and dispatchers, scheduling their duties and overseeing execution to ensure high-quality work, timely deliveries, and customer satisfaction.

In addition to managing staff, you interface with customers and sell our services. With your great customer service skills, you work with clients both in-person and on the phone to assess their needs and provide solutions. Responsibilities

* Lead and assign the daily activities of the branch operations team
* Interview, hire, and train associates; plan, assign, and direct work
* Complete and account for payroll timekeeping, approves PTO for direct reports
* Support operations teams in their daily duties hands on as needed
* Interact with dedicated fleet providers, trucking companies and temp agencies
* Work with outside companies for facility or equipment repairs
* Use the company WMS system to complete operational transactions such as pick lists, delivery notes, PO/DO receiving, cycle counts, scrap, work order processing as well as other various other tasks
* Manage inventory accuracy, cycle count plan completion and inventory accuracy
* Administer safety program and forklift certifications
* Daily forklift inspection report for all forklifts
* Manage gate shop workflow, production, quality control and associated paperwork.
* Provide strong leadership and a positive work environment
* Work with branch sales team and branch manager to ensure customer satisfaction and timely order fulfillment

Qualifications

* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a warehouse operations lead/supervisor role.
* Working knowledge of warehouse/yard/delivery operations.
* Minimum of 1 year driving forklift / warehouse equipment
* Demonstrated leadership abilities, positive mental attitude, sense of urgency, strong customer service orientation
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal & written)
* Willingness and ability to pursue higher education and continuous improvement
* Excellent Inventory Management skills
* Proficient in a WMS system, MS Office Programs, and other internet-based programs
