The objective of the YYA (Youth and Young Adult) Peer Mentor is to provide wrap around and supportive case management services to increase aid and follow-through with unaccompanied Youth and Young Adults who are currently experiencing housing instability. Essential Functions
Coordinates and participates with Youth Action Board (YAB) on an ongoing basis. This role is an active presence in the YAB community and runs/attends meetings of the YAB and YAB related events.
Attends and is an active participant in county-wide initiatives, meetings, and committees that promote funding and resources to young adults experiencing homelessness. Demonstrates ability to be a “young adult voice” in this role.
Assists the YYA Case Managements team with referrals, coordination, and communication with YYA clients
Actively aids in the recruiting and hiring process for YAB members
Collaborate with other departments and agency programs to maximize participant outcomes, program goals, and agency mission
Supports the YYA case managers in collecting all necessary documentation needed to support assistance
