Year Up company history timeline

2000

Since it began in Boston in 2000, Year Up — a nonprofit program that helps underserved young people gain the skills and discipline they need to succeed — has trained and placed nearly 17,500 young people in professional internships in 21 cities.

In 2000, Chertavian poured much of his newly acquired wealth into founding Year Up.

In 2000, he dedicated his life and business expertise to closing the "Opportunity Divide," and Year Up was born.

2003

Harvard University began working with Year Up in 2003.
